A one-day Diabetes Screening Camp and a seminar on Diabetes Management were organized at IUB

A one-day Diabetes Screening Camp and a seminar on Diabetes Management were organized jointly by the Faculty of Social Sciences, the SDGs Collaboration Center, and Getz Pharma at the Faculty of Social Sciences. More than 100 faculty members were provided free of cost testing facility for fasting sugar level, random blood sugar test, Lipid Profile, and HbA1. An awareness Seminar on Diabetes Management was also organized. Prof. Dr. Qazi Masroor Ali, Former Professor of Medicine at Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital delivered the informative lecture. He delved into various aspects of diabetes management, including: understanding different types of diabetes, such as type 1, type 2, and other forms of the condition. He also provided a detailed talk on the effective blood sugar management e.g., monitoring techniques, medication options, and lifestyle adjustments to keep blood sugar under control. Prof. Qazi Masroor Ali also provided detailed instructions on healthy eating for diabetes, staying active for better health, and preventing complications. Prof. Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences addressed the audience and shared with them that even small changes can make a big difference in preventing diabetes. It’s never too late to start taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle and lower you risk of this chronic disease. She said that today activities are alingned with the SDG 3- Good Health and Well Being, and SDG-17 Partnerships for the Goals. She thanked Prof. Qazi Masroor Ali, Prof. Dr. Syed Aamir Sohail Dean of Faculty of Arts and Languages and faculty members for their participation. She also thanked Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, for giving and providing the chance to hold and organize the diabetes screening camp and seminar.

بہاول پو ر() فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز، SDGs کولابریشن سینٹر اور گیٹز فارما کی جانب سے ایک روزہ ذیابیطس اسکریننگ کیمپ اور ذیابیطس کی روک تھام پر ایک سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ 100 سے زائد فیکلٹی ممبران کو فاسٹنگ شوگر لیول، بے ترتیب بلڈ شوگر ٹیسٹ، لپڈ پروفائل، اور HbA1 کی مفت جانچ کی سہولت فراہم کی گئی۔ ذیابیطس مینجمنٹ کے حوالے سے آگاہی سیمینار بھی منعقد کیا گیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر قاضی مسرور علی، سابق پروفیسر آف میڈیسن بہاولپور وکٹوریہ ہسپتال نے ذیابیطس مینجمنٹ کے مختلف پہلوؤں کا مطالعہ کیا، بشمول ذیابیطس کی مختلف اقسام کو سمجھنا، جیسے قسم 1، قسم 2 اور مختلف حالت کی دیگر شکلیں۔ انہوں نے بلڈ شوگر کے موثر انتظام جیسے کہ مانیٹرنگ کی تکنیک، ادویات کے اختیارات، اور بلڈ شوگر کو کنٹرول میں رکھنے کے لیے طرز زندگی میں ایڈجسٹمنٹ پر بھی تفصیلی گفتگو کی۔ پروفیسر قاضی مسرور علی نے ذیابیطس کے لیے صحت بخش غذا، بہتر صحت کے لیے متحرک رہنے اور پیچیدگیوں سے بچنے کے لیے بھی تفصیلی ہدایات دیں۔پروفیسرڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی، ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز نے حاضرین سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہاکہ چھوٹی چھوٹی تبدیلیاں بھی ذیابیطس سے بچاؤ میں بڑا فرق لا سکتی ہیں۔ صحت مند طرز زندگی کی طرف قدم اٹھانا شروع کرنے اور اس دائمی بیماری کے خطرے کو کم کرنے میں کبھی دیر نہیں لگتی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ آج کی سرگرمیاں SDG 3اچھی صحت اور بہبود، اور SDG17 کے اہداف کے لیے شراکت داری سے ہم آہنگ ہیں۔ انہوں نے پروفیسر قاضی مسرور علی، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سید عامر سہیل ڈین فیکلٹی آف آرٹس اینڈ لینگوئجزاور فیکلٹی ممبران کی شرکت پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر کا بھی شکریہ ادا کیا کہ انہوں نے ذیابیطس اسکریننگ کیمپ اور سیمینار کے انعقاد کا موقع فراہم کیا۔
