An awareness seminar was organized at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on women's rights and protection of women at the workplace. Provincial Ombudsman Punjab Dr. Najma Afzal Khan attended the seminar as the chief guest. Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Chairperson of the University Center for Anti-Harassment and Discrimination, and committee members, senior faculty members, university officers and officers associated with various district departments participated. Provincial Ombudsman Punjab Dr. Najma Afzal Khan, while speaking, said that it is the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif that women should get their rights at the doorstep of their homes. Harassment of women is a crime. The institution is working for the protection of women. The Provincial Ombudsman institution was established in 2013. Harassment of women at the workplace is a punishable crime. Provincial Ombudsman Punjab said that whether it is a government institution or a private one, it is mandatory to form an anti-harassment committee. A harassment committee is formed in every institution, each committee consists of three people. This institution provides immediate relief to women. Men or women can approach this institution against harassment. Women should be provided with a conducive and safe environment so that they can work easily. Code of Conduct and Inquiry Committees are being ensured in the institutions where women work. Our people go to the institutions and train these committees. The Code of Conduct must be displayed where women work. He said that it is the responsibility of our institution to check the places where women work. Harassment is not just our problem but a global problem and such problems should be prevented. In this regard, awareness seminars are being organized across the province. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran said in his address that Islam had given the concept of protecting women's rights fourteen hundred years ago. Women got socio-economic and legal rights and protection through teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him). The steps taken by the Chief Minister of Punjab in this regard are commendable. He said that a zero tolerance policy on harassment is in force in the university and if any teacher or student has any complaint in this regard, the doors of his office are always open. The university has a Center for Anti-Harassment and Discrimination Committee and immediate action is taken on complaints. All students and faculty members can approach the committee for any kind of complaint. Staff Officer Hafiz Farooq Anwar informed the participants that the code of conduct must be displayed wherever women work. Mohsin Majeed Law Officer, Federal Ombudsman Regional Office Bahawalpur, informed the participants about the Prevention of Harassment Act 2010, amended in 2012. The participants were also informed about the protection of women at the workplace.

وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف کے ویژن کے مطابق خواتین کے حقوق اور انصاف کی فراہمی کو قانونی تحفظ حاصل ہے ۔ورک پلیس پر خواتین کو ہراساں کرنا قابل سزا جرم ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں خواتین کے حقوق اور جائے روزگار پر خواتین کے تحفظ کے حوالے سے آگاہی سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔صوبائی خاتون محتسب پنجاب ڈاکٹر نجمہ افضل خان نے سیمینار میں بحثیت مہمان خصوصی شرکت کی۔ وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران یونیورسٹی سینٹر برائے اینٹی ہراسمنٹ اینڈ ڈسکریمینیشن کی چیئرپرسن اورکمیٹی ممبران سینئر اساتذہ افسران اور ضلعی محکموں سے وابستہ افسران شریک ہوئے۔ صوبائی خاتون محتسب پنجاب ڈاکٹر نجمہ افضل خان نے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف کا ویژن ہے کہ خواتین کو انکے حقوق انکے گھر کی دہلیز پر ملیں۔ خواتین کو ہراساں کرنا جرم ہے۔ ادارہ خواتین کے تحفظ کے لیے کام کر رہا ہے۔صوبائی محتسب ادارہ 2013 میں بنا۔ ورک پلیس پر خواتین کو ہراساں کرنا قابل سزا جرم ہے۔ صوبائی خاتون محتسب پنجاب نے کہا کہ سرکاری ادارے ہوں یا نجی، انسداد ہراسانی کمیٹی بنانا لازمی ہے۔ ہر ادارے میں ہراسمنٹ کمیٹی تشکیل دی جاتی ہے ،ہر کمیٹی تین افراد پر مشتمل ہوتی ہے۔اس ادارے سے خواتین کو فوری ریلیف فراہم کیا جاتا ہے۔ مرد یا خاتون ہراسمنٹ کے خلاف اس ادارے سے رجوع کرسکتے ہیں۔ خواتین کو ساز گار اور تحفظ والا ماحول فراہم کیا جائےتاکہ وہ آسانی سے کام کرسکیں۔ خواتین جن اداروں میں کام کرتیں ہیں وہاں کوڈ آف کنڈکٹ اور انکوائری کمیٹیز کو یقینی بنایا جارہا ہے ۔ہمارے افراد اداروں میں جاکر ان کیمٹیوں کی ٹریننگ کرتے ہیں۔کوڈ آف کنڈکٹ کو جہاں خواتین کام کرتیں ہیں، وہاں آویزاں کرنا ضروری ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمارے ادارے کی زمہ داری ہے وہ خواتین جہاں کام کرتیں ہیں ان کو چیک کریں۔ ہراسمنٹ صرف ہمارا نہیں عالمی مسئلہ ہے ایسے مسئلوں کی روک تھام کرنی ہے۔اس سلسلے میں صوبہ بھر میں آگاہی سیمینار کا انعقاد کر رہے ہیں۔وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ خواتین کے حقوق کے تحفظ کا تصور اسلام نے چودہ سو برس پہلے ہی دے دیا تھا۔عورت کوسماجی معاشی اور قانونی حق اور تحفظ اسی وقت مل گیاتھا جب حضرت محمد ﷺ اس دنیا میں تشریف لائے۔اس سلسلے میں وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب کے اقدمات قابل تحسین ہیں۔انہوں نے کہا کہ یونیورسٹی میں ہراسمنٹ پر زیرو ٹالرینس پالیسی نافذالعمل ہے اور اس حوالے سے کسی بھی استاد اور طلب علم کو کوئی شکایت ہو تو انکے آفس کے دروازے ہمہ وقت کھلے ہیں ۔ یونیورسٹی میں سینٹر برائے اینٹی ہراسمنٹ اینڈ ڈسکریمینیشن کمیٹی قائم ہے شکایات پر فوری کاروائی کی جاتی ہے ۔تمام طلباو طالبات اور فیکلٹی ممبران کسی بھی قسم کی شکایت کے لیے کمیٹی سے رجوع کر سکتے ہیں۔ مزید یونیورسٹی صوبائی محتسب کی آمد اور آگاہی سیمینار کے انعقادکو سراہتی ہے ۔ سٹاف آفیسر حافظ فاروق انور نے شرکاء کو آگاہی فراہم کرتے ہوئے بتایا کہ کوڈ آف کنڈکٹ کو جہاں خواتین کام کرتیں ہیں، وہاں آویزاں کرنا ضروری ہے۔ محسن مجید لا آفیسروفاقی محتسب ریجنل آفس بہاول پور نے شرکاء کو انسداد ہراسانی ایکٹ 2010 ترمیم شدہ 2012, کے حوالے سے آگاہی فراہم کی۔ شرکاء کو جائے روزگار پر خواتین کے تحفظ کے حوالے سے بھی آگاہی فراہم کی گئی۔
