Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Islamia University Bahawalpur organized an awareness seminar in connection with World Anthropology Day. Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Dean Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences and Director Culture and Heritage was the chief guest on this occasion. Discussing the importance of social sciences in human life, she said that nowadays social scientists are needed more than ever and both social science and natural science together are serving humanity better. Dr. Farooq Ahmed, Chairman Department of Anthropology explained the historical background and evolution of the knowledge of anthropology. The role of anthropologists in universities, government, community organizations and the private sector is very significant. Prof. Dr. Rafiq ul Islam discussed the topic of literature and anthropology. Prof. Dr. Salman bin Naeem described his observations regarding anthropology during his stay in America. Prof. Dr. Musawar Bukhari spoke on the scope of the subject and said that the study of political science without understanding anthropology is meaningless, his research on race, sect and nationalism is equally important in anthropology and political science. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem drew attention to the work of anthropologists who played a very important role in the political scene of the Middle East and South Asia in the middle of the 16th century. He added that qualitative research, pioneered by anthropological researchers, is the future of research. Dr. Ayesha and Dr. Moazzam Durrani also discussed the importance of anthropological knowledge for social sciences.

بہاول پور () شعبہ بشریات فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسزاسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے زیر اہتمام عالمی یوم بشریات کی مناسبت سے ایک آگاہی سیمینار کا اہتمام کیا گیا۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شازیہ انجم ڈین فیکلٹی آف کیمیکل اینڈ بائیولوجیکل سائنسز اور ڈائریکٹر کلچر اینڈ ہیریٹیج مہمان خصوصی تھیں۔ انہوں نے انسانی زندگی میں سماجی علوم کی اہمیت پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ دور حاضر میں پہلے سے کہیں زیادہ سماجی سائنسدانوں کی ضرورت ہے اور سماجی سائنس اور قدرتی سائنس دونوں مل کر انسانیت کی بہتر خدمت کر رہے ہیں۔ ڈاکٹر فاروق احمد چئیرمین شعبہ نے بشریات کے علم کا تاریخی پس منظر اور ارتقاء بیان کیا۔ یونیورسٹیوں، حکومت، کمیونٹی تنظیموں اور نجی شعبے میں ماہر بشریات کا کردار بہت اہم ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر رفیق الاسلام نے ادب اور بشریات کے موضوع پر گفتگو کی۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سلمان بن نعیم نے امریکہ میں قیام کے دوران علم بشریات کے حوالے سے اپنے مشاہدات بیان کیے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مصور بخاری نے موضوع کی وسعت پر بات کی اور کہا کہ علمِ بشریات کو سمجھے بغیر سیاسیات کا مطالعہ بے معنی ہے، نسل، فرقہ اور قوم پرستی پر ان کی تحقیق بشریات اور سیاسیات میں یکساں اہمیت رکھتی ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم نے بشریات کے ماہرین کے کام کی طرف توجہ دلائی جنہوں نے 16ویں صدی کے وسط میں مشرق وسطیٰ اور جنوبی ایشیا کے سیاسی منظر نامے میں بہت اہم کردار ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ کوالٹیٹیو ریسرچ، جس کا آغاز علم بشریات کے محققین سے ہوا، یہی تحقیق ہے جس کا مستقبل ہے۔ ڈاکٹر عائشہ شعبہ سوشل ورک ڈپارٹمنٹ اور ڈاکٹر معظم درانی نے بھی سماجی علوم کے لیے بشریات کے علم کی اہمیت پر بات کی۔
