IUB organized an awareness walk to celebrate Book and Copyright Day 2024 at Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus

Bahawalpur (P) Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar has said that books are a very important means of connecting past and future and generations and cultures are connected with each other thanks to books. Books are actually the source of increasing our knowledge. The Vice-Chancellor expressed these views while addressing the participants of a special walk organized by the Department of Library and Information Science on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day. On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Social Science Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti informed about the importance of this day and urged the participants to encourage the trend of book reading to highlight the development and creativity of the society. She said that the role of parents in this regard is also very important to inculcate the habit of reading books in their children. She said that this year, UNESCO has set the theme of World Book and Copyright Day, Read Your Way. He said that on this day the importance of authors, publishers, book sellers and libraries and information centers related to books is highlighted globally. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Yasmin Rufi, Director, School of State Sciences, Dr. Khalid Mehmood Singhera, Chief Librarian, Dr. Abid Rasheed Gill, Head of the Department of Economics, faculty members and a large number of students were present on this occasion.

بہاول پور (پ) وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے کہا ہے کہ کتابیں ماضی اور مستقبل کو جوڑنے کا بہت اہم ذریعہ ہیں اور کتابوں کی بدولت نسلیں اور ثقافتیں آپس میں منسلک ہوتی ہیں۔ کتابیں ہی دراصل ہمارے علم میں اضافے کا ذریعہ ہیں۔ وائس چانسلر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار ورلڈ بک اور کاپی رائٹ کے دن کے موقع پر شعبہ لائبریری اینڈ انفارمیشن سائنس کی جانب سے منعقد کی گئی خصوصی واک کے شرکاء سے خطاب میں کیا۔ اس موقع پر ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنس پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی نے اس دن کی اہمیت سے آگاہ کیا اور شرکاء پر زور دیا کہ وہ معاشرے کی ترقی اور تخلیقی صلاحیتوں کو اجاگر کرنے کے لیے کتاب بینی کے رجحان کی حوصلہ افزائی کریں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس سلسلے میں والدین کا کردار بھی بہت اہم ہے جو اپنے بچوں میں کتاب بینی کی عادت ڈالیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس سال یونیسکو نے ورلڈ بک اور کاپی رائٹ ڈے کا تھیم اپنا طریقہ پڑھیں مقرر کیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس دن عالمی سطح پر کتابوں سے وابستہ مصنفین، ناشرین، کتب فروخت کرنے والوں اور لائبریریوں اور معلوماتی مراکز کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کیا جاتا ہے۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر یاسمین روفی ڈائریکٹر سکول آف سٹیٹ سائنسز، ڈاکٹر خالد محمود سنگھیرا چیف لائبریرین، ڈاکٹر عابد رشید گل سربراہ شعبہ اکنامکس، فیکلٹی ممبرز اور طلباء و طالبات کی کثیر تعداد شریک تھی۔
