Letter of Agreement signed between IUB and Kaarvan Crafts Foundation

The Department of Data Science at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has signed a Letter of Agreement under the Digitalization for Women’s Economic Empowerment Project, implemented with the support of UN Women Pakistan, Kaarvan Crafts Foundation. The Letter of Agreement was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor and Danish Jabbar Khan, Chief Executive Officer, Kaarvan Crafts Foundation. Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Professor Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan, Director IT Faisal Shahzad, Dr. Muhammad Fahim Mushtaq, Focal Person and Chairman of the Department of Data Science, Director Media and Public Relations Dr. Shahzad Ahmed Khalid and other faculty members were present on the occasion. Under this initiative, a Digital Learning Hub will be established to promote women’s digital literacy and economic independence. The hub will provide training and capacity-building opportunities in online marketing, e-commerce, financial technology, and digital communication. This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and enable women to actively participate in the digital economy. Speaking on the occasion, the leadership emphasized that digital skills are no longer a luxury but a necessity for sustainable development and economic empowerment. By equipping women with modern digital tools and knowledge, the project will enable them to access new markets, strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities, and improve their livelihoods. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment among the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and UN Women Pakistan, Kaarvan Crafts Foundation to promote gender inclusion through technology and innovation. The project is expected to create long-term social and economic impact by fostering self-reliance, skill development, and employment opportunities for women. The Digitalization for Women’s Economic Empowerment Project represents a significant step toward building an inclusive digital ecosystem and advancing sustainable development in the region.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے شعبہ ڈیٹا سائنس نے یو این ویمن پاکستان، کاروان کرافٹس فاؤنڈیشن کے تعاون سے نافذ ہونے والے ڈیجیٹلائزیشن فار وومنز اکنامک امپاورمنٹ پروجیکٹ کے تحت ایک لیٹر آف ایگریمنٹ پر دستخط کیے ہیں۔ معاہدے پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور اور دانش جبار خان چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر کاروان کرافٹس فاؤنڈیشن نے دستخط کیے۔ اس موقع پر ڈین فیکلٹی آف کیمپوٹنگ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر دوست محمد خان، ڈائریکٹر آئی ٹی فیصل شہزاد ، ڈاکٹر محمد فہیم مشتاق فوکل پرسن و چیئرمین شعبہ ڈیٹا سائنس ، ڈائریکٹر میڈیا اینڈ پبلک ریلیشنز ڈاکٹر شہزاد احمد خالد اور دیگر فیکلٹی ممبران موجود تھے۔ اس اقدام کے تحت خواتین کی ڈیجیٹل خواندگی اور معاشی آزادی کو فروغ دینے کے لیے ایک ڈیجیٹل لرننگ ہب قائم کیا جائے گا۔ یہ مرکز آن لائن مارکیٹنگ ای کامرس مالیاتی ٹیکنالوجی اور ڈیجیٹل کمیونیکیشن میں تربیت اور صلاحیت سازی کے مواقع فراہم کرے گا۔ اس موقع پر شرکاء نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ ڈیجیٹل مہارتیں پائیدار معاشی ترقی کےلئے اہم ہو گئی ہیں۔ خواتین کو جدید ڈیجیٹل ٹولز اور علم سے آراستہ کرکے یہ پروجیکٹ انہیں نئی مارکیٹ تک رسائی کاروباری صلاحیتوں کو مضبوط بنانے اور اپنی معاش کو بہتر بنانے کے قابل بنائے گا۔ یہ تعاون اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور یو این ویمن پاکستان کاروان کرافٹس فاؤنڈیشن کے درمیان ٹیکنالوجی اور اختراع کے ذریعے صنفی شمولیت کو فروغ دینے کے لیے مشترکہ عزم کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔ اس منصوبے سے خواتین کے لیے خود انحصاری ہنر مندی کی ترقی اور روزگار کے مواقع کو فروغ دے کر طویل مدتی سماجی اور اقتصادی اثرات کی توقع ہے۔ ڈیجیٹلائزیشن فار وومنز اکنامک امپاورمنٹ پروجیکٹ ایک جامع ڈیجیٹل ماحولیاتی نظام کی تعمیر اور خطے میں پائیدار ترقی کو آگے بڑھانے کی جانب ایک اہم قدم ہے۔
