The Punjab government has approved the setting up of chip design centers at a cost of Rs 41.75 million in eight universities of Punjab including the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, specially thanked the Provincial Minister for Higher Education, Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz for giving priority to Islamia University of Bahawalpur for the establishment of Chip Design Center. He said that thanks to the special attention of the government, a chip design center would be set up in the university this year. The project will launch undergraduate and graduate level courses in chip design. With the help of these courses, students will receive training in Commercial Grade, IC & Design and their verification tools. After the training, students will be fully prepared to work in the domestic and foreign IT market and will be able to find employment easily. Integrated circuit chip technology has revolutionized the world of computers and electronics. With the establishment of these centers in these universities, Pakistan will gain a prominent position in this technology at the global level, especially in electronics. The Vice Chancellor further said that this initiative of the Punjab government would go a long way in achieving a better position in the electronics industry and nanotechnology globally and Pakistani engineers would be able to make a name for themselves not only in the domestic but also in the global market. The Vice Chancellor has extended special congratulations to the Dean Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad, faculty members and students on the achievement.

حکومت پنجاب نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور سمیت پنجاب کی 8جامعات میں 41.75ملین روپے لاگت کے چپ ڈیزائن سینٹرز کے قیام کی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر نے چپ ڈیزائن سنیٹر کے قیام کے لیے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کو ترجیح دینے پر صوبائی وزیر ہائر ایجوکیشن راجہ یاسر ہمایوں سرفراز کا خصوصی شکریہ ادا کیا۔ انہوں  نے کہا کہ حکومت کی خصوصی توجہ کی بدولت اسی سال یونیورسٹی میں چپ ڈیزائن سینٹر قائم ہو جائے گا۔ اس منصوبے سے چپ ڈیزائن سے متعلق انڈرگریجویٹ اور گریجویٹ لیول کے کورسز کا آغاز کیا جائے گا۔ ان کورسز کی مدد سے طلبا وطالبات کمرشل گریڈ، آئی سی اینڈ ڈیزائن اور ان کی ویری فیکیشن ٹول سے متعلق تربیت حاصل کریں گے۔ تربیت کے بعد طلباء وطالبات ملکی اور غیر ملکی آئی ٹی مارکیٹ میں کام کے لیے بالکل تیار ہوں گے اور انہیں باآسانی روز گار میسر آئے گا۔اِنٹی گرٹیڈ سرکٹ چپ ٹیکنالوجی نے کیمپوٹر اور الیکٹرونکس کی دنیا میں انقلاب برپا کر دیا ہے اور اس کی مدد سے بڑی سے بڑی انفارمیشن باآسانی سٹور ہو جاتی ہے۔ان جامعات میں ان سینٹر کے قیام سے پاکستان اس ٹیکنالوجی میں عالمی سطح پر خصوصا الیکٹرونکس میں نمایاں مقام حاصل کر ئے گا۔ وائس چانسلر نے مزید کہا کہ الیکٹرونکس انڈسٹری اور نینوٹیکنالوجی میں عالمی سطح پر ایک بہتر مقام حاصل کرنے میں حکومت پنجاب کے اس اقدام سے بہت مد د ملے گی اور پاکستانی انجینئرز بہترین ٹیکنالوجی سے لیس ہوکر نہ صرف ملکی بلکہ عالمی مارکیٹ میں نام پیدا کر سکیں گے اور اس کی مدد سے ریسرچ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ اور انڈسٹری کو مدد بھی ملے گی۔وائس چانسلر نے اس موقع پر ڈین فیکلٹی آف انجینئرنگ پروفیسر ڈاکٹرمحمد امجد، فیکلٹی ممبران اور طلباء وطالبات کو خصوصی مبارکباد دی ہے۔
