Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul has said that the campuses of Islamia University Bahawalpur are lush and fresh and present the best example of Clean and Green Pakistan campaign. More than one lakh saplings have been planted in the recently campuses due to which the university offers a beautiful view. The Federal Minister expressed these views while talking in a special talk show of Pakistan Television aired during Eid days. Vice chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Member National Assembly Zain Mahmood Qureshi and religious scholar Hamid Saeed Kazmi also participated. The producer of the program was Shafqat Abbas Malik. Ms. Zartaj Gul said that she has recently visited the university and on this occasion she was impressed by the beauty of the university, the faculty and the warmth and dedication of the students. National Assembly member Zain Mehmood Qureshi in his talk said that the government has recently provided health, infrastructure and education packages for the betterment of South Punjab. He said that he would like to give credit to the Vice Chancellor that he has improved the university and enhanced its capacity. Islamia University Bahawalpur has great potential that it can become the top university in Pakistan and it better platform for the development of South Punjab and promotion of higher education. The government has to provide infrastructure and financial support to the university. A lot of work is being done in Islamia University and Bahauddin Zakaria University. New faculties and new chairs are open and a lot of work is being done on research which has not been done in previous periods. Sahibzada Hamid Saeed Kazmi also expressed good wishes for Jamia Islamia. He said that he would soon pay a detailed visit to this great institution. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob while speaking on the occasion said that Islamia University Bahawalpur is currently going through a great period of construction and development. In terms of resources, Islamia University Bahawalpur has a large infrastructure where thousands of students are teaching and learning. Research activities can be carried out, that’s why he paid attention to this immediately after his arrival and opened the morning and evening programs at the university. The university has also launched the teaching programs in line with the requirements of the future. The number of teaching departments has been increased from 48 to 123 while the number of faculties has been increased from 7 to 13. The number of students has increased from 13,000 to 46,000 in 20 months. The number of teachers is also increased from 500 to 1000 and 450 teachers with PhD qualification. Islamia University Bahawalpur is paying full attention to the welfare of students. Hostel, transport and medical facilities are ideal. A special bus service is being run for the convenience of students of cities and towns up to 60 km around Bahawalpur, which has provided safe travel facility to the students and especially for the female students. Hostel cost savings are a great gift for those students from backward and underdeveloped areas. The university has opened its doors to the community who are fully involved in the development of the university.

وزیر مملکت برائے کلائمیٹ چینج زرتاج گل نے کہا ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے کیمپسز سرسبز و شاداب ہیں اور کلین اینڈ گرین پاکستان مہم کا بہترین نمونہ پیش کرتے ہیں۔پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے زیرنگرانی یونیورسٹی کیمپسزمیں حال ہی میں ایک لاکھ سے زائد پودے لگائے گئے ہیں جن کے باعث یونیورسٹی ایک خوبصورت منظر پیش کرتی ہے۔وفاقی وزیر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار عید کے دنوں میں نشر کیے جانے والے پاکستان ٹیلی ویژن کے خصوصی ٹاک شومیں گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا۔اس پروگرام میں وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب،رکن قومی اسمبلی زین محمود قریشی اورمذہبی سکالر حامد سعید کاظمی نے خصوصی شرکت کی۔ اس پروگرام کے پروڈیوسر شفقت عباس مالک تھے۔محترمہ زرتاج گل نے کہا کہ انہوں نے حال ہی میں یونیورسٹی کا دورہ کیا ہے اس موقع پر وہ یونیورسٹی کی خوبصورتی، فیکلٹی اور طلبہ و طالبات کی گرم جوشی اور تعلیم سے لگن سے بے حد متاثر ہوئیں۔ رکن قومی اسمبلی زین محمود قریشی نے اپنی خصوصی گفتگو میں کہا کہ جنوبی پنجاب کی بہتری کے لیے حال ہی میں حکومت نے ہیلتھ، انفراسٹرکچر اور ایجوکیشن کے پیکجز دیے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں وائس چانسلر صاحب کو کریڈٹ دینا چاہوں گا کہ انہوں نے یونیورسٹی میں نکھار پیدا کیا ہے اور استعدادمیں اضافہ کیا۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں اتنی صلاحیت موجود ہے کہ یہ پاکستان کی ٹاپ یونیورسٹی بن سکتی ہے اور ساؤتھ پنجاب کی ترقی اور اعلی تعلیم کی ترویج کے لئے اس سے بہتر پلیٹ فارم کوئی نہیں ہے۔حکومت کو یونیورسٹی کے انفراسٹرکچرکی بہتری کیلئے مالی امداد کرنی ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی اور بہاؤ الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی میں بہت کام ہو رہا ہے۔نئی فیکلٹیز اور نئی چئیرزکھلی ہیں اور ریسرچ پر بہت زیادہ کام ہو رہا ہے جو کہ سابقہ ادوار میں نہیں ہوا۔صاحبزادہ حامد سعید کاظمی نے بھی جامعہ اسلامیہ کے لئے نیک خواہشات کااظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ وہ جلد ہی اس عظیم دانش درسگاہ کا تفصیلی دورہ کریں گے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے اس موقع پر اظہار خیال کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اس وقت تعمیر و ترقی کے عظیم دور سے گزر رہی ہے۔وسائل کے اعتبار سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور ایک بڑے انفراسٹرکچر کی حامل ہے جہاں پر ہزاروں طلبہ وطالبات تدریسی اور تحقیقی سرگرمیاں سرانجام دے سکتے ہیں یہی وجہ ہے کہ انہوں نے اپنی آمد کے فوری بعد اس طرف توجہ دی اور یونیورسٹی میں مارننگ اور ایوننگ پروگراموں کو اوپن کر دیا۔ مستقبل کے تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ تدریسی پروگراموں کا آغاز کیا۔تدریسی شعبہ جات کی تعداد 48 سے بڑھا کر 123 کردی گئی جبکہ فیکلٹیوں کی تعداد7سے بڑھ کر13ہوگئی۔طلبہ و طالبات کی تعداد بیس ماہ میں 13 ہزار سے 46ہزار ہوگئی۔اساتذہ کی تعداد بھی 500 سے بڑھا کر 1000ہو گئی ہے جن میں 450 اساتذہ پی ایچ ڈی ہیں۔اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور طلباء و طالبات کی فلاح و بہبود پر بھرپور توجہ دے رہی ہے۔ ہاسٹل،ٹرانسپورٹ اور میڈیکل کی سہولیات مثالی ہیں۔بہاولپور کے اردگرد 60 کلومیٹر تک موجود شہروں اور قصبات کے طلباء وطالبات کی سہولت کے لیے خصوصی بس سروس چلائی جارہی ہے جس کے باعث طلبہ اور خاص طور پر طالبات کو محفوظ سفری سہولت دستیاب ہوئی ہے۔ ہاسٹل اخراجات کی بچت پسماندہ اور کم ترقی یافتہ علاقوں سے تعلق رکھنے والے ان طلبہ و طالبات کے لئے بہترین تحفہ ہے۔ اس نے اپنے دروازے کمیونٹی کے لیے کھول دیے ہیں جو بھرپور انداز میں یونیورسٹی کی ترقی میں شریک ہیں۔
