The International Day of Access to Information was celebrated under the auspices of the Faculty of Social Sciences the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, said that the theme of Global Conference in connection with this day is access to information and participation in the public sector. She said that for the past few years, Pakistan has become one of the few countries in the world where information commissions have been established to assist in obtaining important information from government institutions at the federal and provincial levels. And the Chief Information Commissioner is appointed at the federal level and the Provincial Information Commissioner at the provincial level. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur also has a Public Information Office under the Right to Information Act in the Department of Public Relations and is working in an active manner.

فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے زیر اہتمام معلومات تک رسائی کا عالمی دن منایا گیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے کہا کہ اس موضوع پر منعقد ہونے والی گلوبل کانفرنس کا تھیم معلومات تک رسائی اور عوامی شعبے میں شرکت کو مرکزی دھارے میں لانا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اب گزشتہ چند برس سے پاکستان بھی دنیا کے ان چند ممالک میں شمار ہوگیا ہے جہاں وفاقی اور صوبائی سطح پر سرکاری اداروں سے اہم معلومات حاصل کرنے کی معاونت کے لیے انفارمیشن کمیشن قائم ہوچکے ہیں اور وفاقی سطح پر چیف انفارمیشن کمشنر اور صوبائی سطح پر صوبائی انفارمیشن کمشنر تعینات ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں بھی شعبہ تعلقات عامہ میں رائٹ ٹو انفارمیشن ایکٹ کے تحت پبلک انفارمیشن آفس قائم ہے اور فعال انداز میں کام کررہا ہے۔
