Visit of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran at the Department of English Linguistics, IUB.

The Department of English Linguistics, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, had the honor of welcoming Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, the Worthy Vice Chancellor of IUB, during his recent visit to the department in the afternoon on September 5, 2025. 
On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Kamran inaugurated the Departmental Prayer Room for female students and appreciated this initiative, terming it a valuable step towards providing a supportive academic environment to students. Hafiz Dr. Abdul Sattar, Director, Directorate of Masajid, Dr. Wasif Iqabl Siddiqi, nominee, In charge Faculty of Arts & Languages, IUB, Dr. Zahoor Hussain and Dr. Shahid Nawaz of Dept. of English Linguistics were also present on the occasion. The Worthy Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance of grooming students’ communication skills. He underlined the role of quality and academic excellence as essential components of higher education and global scholarship. 
The Worthy Vice-Chancellor took keen interest in the academic and research progress of the department. During the briefing, Dr. Riaz Hussain, the founding Chairman of Department of English Linguistics, informed him that the department regularly provides international exposure to the students through international academic events organized by the department. He also informed him about the number of Ph.D. graduates of the department. Prof. Dr. Kamran reviewed the research topics of the graduates and commended the scholarly contributions of the faculty. He stressed the need for continuous improvement in the quality of education being imparted. The Chairman of the Department expressed his sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Kamran for his gracious visit, valuable time, and encouraging remarks for the faculty and department.
