The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has signed a Letter of Agreement with the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute (LVRI), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), to strengthen international collaboration in veterinary education, research, and innovation. The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice-Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mansoor, Dr. Tauseef ur Rehman, Chairman Department of Parasitology, Dr. Muhammad Rashid and Prof. Haixue Zheng, Director General of Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute, Prof. Guiquan Guan, Chairman, In-Charge, Laboratory of Vectors and Vector-borne Diseases, Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute along with senior officials and representatives from both institutions. The agreement establishes a framework for academic and research cooperation between the Department of Parasitology at the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute a leading institute in China specializing in preventive veterinary medicine and the control of infectious and parasitic diseases. Under this collaboration, both institutions will work together to Promote exchange and co-supervision of postgraduate students. Develop joint research projects, including those supported by funding agencies such as the Ministry of Science and Technology China and the Pakistan Science Foundation. Share academic publications, research findings, and scientific expertise. Explore additional areas of cooperation in veterinary parasitology, vector biology, and vector-borne diseases. The partnership will focus on advancing research in epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention, and control of parasitic and vector-borne diseases of veterinary and zoonotic importance, contributing to improved animal health, food security, and public health in both countries. The agreement reflects the shared commitment of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute to promote scientific excellence, capacity building, and long-term international collaboration based on mutual benefit and academic exchange.
