A seminar on sustainable production of wheat for food security and better nutrition was organized by the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Dr. Muhammad Saqib, Assistant Professor, Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, conducted the organizing duties. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aun Samar, Chairman, Department of Agronomy, welcomed the guests and participants and informed them about the importance of sustainable agriculture and food security. Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment attended as special guest. Among the other guests were Dr. Imtiaz Ali Senior Scientist Wheat, Regional Agricultural Research Institute Bahawalpur, Abdul Rauf Deputy Director FSC & RD, Chaudhry Abdul Rauf, Tanveer Akhtar, CEO, Aziz Flour Mills, Sheikh Iftikhar Ali, CEO, Haris Flour Mills and Dr. Ghulam Hussain Sabir Siyal Technical Services Officer, Fatima Fertilizers. The participants presented a series of short sessions on the need for sustainable wheat production for food security in Pakistan, current challenges and management strategies. Faculty members of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment also participated in the event. In the end, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, thanked all the guests and appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aun Samar Raza, Chairman Department of Agriculture, Convener and Organizing Team Dr. Muhammad Saqib, Dr. Muhammad Aun Samar Raza. He congratulated Salman Ahmed, Dr. Muhammad Usman Aslam and Dr. Rashid Iqbal, Agricultural and Environment Students Society and other faculty members of the Department of Agriculture for their efforts and hard work for the successful conduct of the seminar. After the seminar, an awareness walk was also conducted to create awareness among the students of other departments and the public.

ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف ایگرانومی فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے زیر اہتمام غذائی تحفظ اور بہتر غذائیت کے لیے گندم کی پائیدار پیداوار کے موضوع پر ایک سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ نظامت کے فرائض ڈاکٹر محمد ثاقب، اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر، ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف ایگرانومی فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر نے سر انجام دیئے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد عون ثمر چیئرمین ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف ایگرانومی نے مہمانوں اور شرکاء کو خوش آمدید کہا اور پائیدار زراعت اور غذائی تحفظ کی اہمیت سے آگاہ کیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین ترابی ڈین، فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ نے بطور مہمان خصوصی شرکت کی۔ دیگر مہمانوں میں ڈاکٹر امتیاز علی سینئر سائنٹسٹ گندم، ریجنل ایگریکلچر ریسرچ انسٹی ٹیوٹ بہاولپور، عبدالرؤف ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر ایف ایس سی اینڈ آر ڈی، چوہدری عبدالرؤف، تنویر اختر سی ای او عزیز فلور ملز، شیخ افتخار علی سی ای او حارث فلور ملز اور ڈاکٹر غلام حسین صابر سیال ٹیکنیکل سروسز آفیسر، فاطمہ فرٹیلائزرز تھے۔ شرکاء نے پاکستان میں غذائی تحفظ کے لیے گندم کی پائیدار پیداوار کی ضرورت، موجودہ چیلنجز اور انتظامی حکمت عملیوں پر مختصر سیشنز کا ایک سلسلہ پیش کیا۔ تقریب میں فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ کے فیکلٹی ممبران نے بھی شرکت کی۔ آخر میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین ترابی ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرنمنٹ نے تمام مہمانوں کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد عون ثمر رضا چیئرمین شعبہ ایگرانومی، کنوینر اور آرگنائزنگ ٹیم ڈاکٹر محمد ثاقب، ڈاکٹر محمد عون ثمر رضا کی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے سلمان احمد، ڈاکٹر محمد عثمان اسلم اور ڈاکٹر راشد اقبال، ایگریرین اینڈ انوائرمنٹ اسٹوڈنٹس سوسائٹی اور شعبہ ایگرانومی کے دیگر فیکلٹی ممبران کو سیمینار کے کامیاب انعقاد کے لیے ان کی کاوشوں اور محنت پر مبارکباد دی۔ سیمینار کے بعد دیگر شعبہ جات کے طلباء اور عوام میں آگاہی پیدا کرنے کے لیے آگاہی واک بھی کی گئی۔
