Bahawalpur Press Club offered lifetime membership to Worthy Vice Chancellor

Bahawalpur Press Club has offered lifetime membership to Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. A special ceremony was held in this regard at Press Club. Additional Commissioner Mehr Khalid Ahmed, Sumera Malik Spokesperson Punjab Government and Member Syndicate IUB, President Press Club Naseer Ahmad Nasir, Islam Zameer, Shahid Akhtar Baloch, Razish Liaquat Puri, Osama Abbasi, Mahmood Zaheer, Anwar Grewal, Athar Fawq Awan, members of the Executive Body and a large number of journalists were present on this occasion. Vice Chancellor in his address said that the University is working closely with the Press Club for the professional development of journalists. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two institutions which resulted in training workshops for journalists of Bahawalpur Division. Similarly, the university announced scholarships for the children of journalists. He thanked the President Press Club and members for the lifetime membership. Additional Commissioner Mehr Khalid Ahmed said that the role of Bahawalpur Press Club is very important in highlighting the problems of the society and he assured full cooperation from the management. In her address, Sumera Malik appreciated the training programs and scholarships for journalists provided by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. She said that she was in touch with government circles for setting up a colony for journalists. President Press Club Bahawalpur Naseer Ahmad Nasir thanked the Vice Chancellor, Additional Commissioner and other guests. He said that during his tenure he had established exemplary relations with the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other stakeholders and promoted positive and professional journalism. Expansion and renovation of Press Club and full attention was also paid to development works. The establishment of Sadiq Library Corner is a perfect example in this regard. After the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Islamia University Bahawalpur inaugurated the Sadiq Library.

بہاول پور (پ ر) بہاول پور پریس کلب نے وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور انجینئر پروفیسرڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کو لائف ٹائم رکنیت پیش کی  ہے۔اس سلسلے میں ایک خصوصی تقریب پریس کلب میں منعقد ہوئی۔تقریب میں ایڈیشنل کمشنر مہر خالد احمد،سمیرا ملک ترجمان پنجاب حکومت و ممبر سینڈیکیٹ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی،صدر پریس کلب نصیر احمد ناصر،اسلام ضمیر،شاہد اختر بلوچ، رازش لیاقت پوری، اسامہ عباسی،محمود ظہیر، انور گریوال، اطہر فاوق اعوان، ایگزیکٹو باڈی کے اراکین اور صحافیوں نے کثیر تعداد میں شرکت کی۔اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ یونیورسٹی پریس کلب کے ساتھ مل کر صحافیوں کی پیشہ ورانہ ترقی کیلئے کوشاں ہے۔اس سلسلے میں دونوں اداروں کے مابین مفاہمتی یاداشت پر دستخط ہوئے جس کے نتیجے میں بہاولپور ڈویژن کے صحافیوں کیلئے تربیتی ورکشاپس کاانعقاد کیا گیا۔ اسی طرح یونیورسٹی نے صحافیوں کے بچوں کیلئے تعلیمی وظائف کا اعلان کیا۔ انہوں نے لائف ٹائم ممبر شپ پرصدر پریس کلب اور اراکین کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ایڈیشنل کمشنر مہر خالد احمد نے کہا کہ معاشرے کے مسائل اُجاگر کرنے میں بہاولپور پریس کلب کا کردار انتہائی اہم ہے اور وہ انتظامیہ کی جانب سے مکمل تعاون کا یقین دلاتے ہیں۔سمیرا ملک نے اپنے خطاب میں یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے صحافیوں کیلئے ٹریننگ پروگراموں اور وظائف کو سراہا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ صحافیوں کیلئے کالونی کے قیام کیلئے حکومتی حلقوں سے رابطہ رکھے ہوئے ہیں۔صدر پریس کلب بہاولپور نصیر احمد ناصر نے وائس چانسلر،ایڈیشنل کمشنرو دیگر مہمانوں کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور انہوں نے کہا کہ اپنے دور میں انہوں نے جامعہ اسلامیہ،ایوان صنعت و تجارت اور دیگر داروں سے مثالی تعلقات قائم کیے اور مثبت اور پیشہ ورانہ صحافت کو فروغ دیا۔پریس کلب کی توسیع،تذین و آرائش اور ترقیاتی کاموں پر بھی بھرپورتوجہ دی گئی۔ اس سلسلے میں صادق لائبریری کارنر کا قیام ایک بہترین مثال ہے۔تقریب کے بعد وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپورنے صادق لائبریر ی اور تو سیعی حصے کا افتتاح کیا۔
