Celebrating 77th Independence Day with a Green Initiative by Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Ather Khan, Director, IUB RYK Campus

On the 77th anniversary of Pakistan's Independence, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan Campus, marked the occasion with a significant contribution to environmental sustainability. Recognizing that Pakistan is among the top 10 countries most adversely affected by climate change, the university organized a mega tree plantation drive on campus, reinforcing the critical role trees play in combating global warming and mitigating the harmful effects of climate change.

The event commenced with a march from the Academic Block to the Admin Block, led by Director Campus, Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Ather Khan. The march saw active participation from faculty members, administrative staff, and 200 enthusiastic students. Following a flag-hoisting ceremony, the plantation drive was launched, with students and faculty members planting trees across the campus.

In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Ather Khan expressed his appreciation to all participants for their dedication to this noble cause. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in contributing to a healthier and greener Pakistan.
