Dr. Waqas Mehmood, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Training at the Faculty of Education, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, has played a pivotal role in fostering an academic and research partnership between Pakistan and Malaysia by serving as an International Research Collaborator. Funded under the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education’s Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) 2024, the project aims to enhance the social skills of children with Down syndrome and other disabilities, thereby enabling them to become active members of society. The project is being conducted in collaboration with Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia. It is led by Dr. Muhammad Muslim M.D. Zali, a Senior Lecturer at Sultan Idris Education University, while Dr. Waqas Mehmood contributes to the research process as the International Research Collaborator representing The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan.

ڈاکٹر وقاص محمود اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر شعبہ تعلیمی تربیت فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے بین الاقوامی تحقیقی معاون کی حیثیت سے پاکستان اور ملائیشیا کے درمیان علمی و تحقیقی شراکت داری میں اہم کردار ادا کیا ہے ۔ ملائیشیا کی وزارتِ اعلیٰ تعلیم کے بنیادی تحقیقی گرانٹ اسکیم 2024 کے اس تحقیقی منصوبے کا عنوان ڈاؤن سنڈروم اور معذوری کے حامل بچوں کی سماجی مہارتوں میں اضافہ کرکے انہیں معاشرے کا فعال فرد بنانا ہے ۔ یہ منصوبہ ملائیشیا کی سلطان ادریس تعلیمی یونیورسٹی کے تعاون سے انجام دیا جا رہا ہے۔ اس منصوبے کی قیادت ڈاکٹر محمد مسلم ایم ڈی زلی سینئر لیکچرر سلطان ادریس تعلیمی یونیورسٹی ملائیشیا کر رہے ہیں جبکہ ڈاکٹر وقاص محمود اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، پاکستان کی جانب سے بین الاقوامی تحقیقی معاون کے طور پر تحقیقی عمل میں اپنا کردار ادا کر رہے ہیں۔
