Fourth season of the Faiz Literary Festival organized by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has officially begun.

The fourth season of the Faiz Literary Festival organized by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur officially began today at the Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall of the Abbasia Campus, where the inaugural session was held in a dignified and academic atmosphere. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, while the welcome remarks were presented by Syed Aamir Sohail, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages, and the poetry of Faiz Ahmed Faiz was recited in a heartfelt manner by Liaquat Raza Jafri, poet and translator, Multan. The keynote address of the inaugural session was delivered by renowned researcher and Faiz expert Dr. Taqi Abidi (Canada), who meaningfully highlighted the poetry of Faiz Ahmed Faiz in the context of cultural consciousness, political struggle and human freedom. Prominent critic, intellectual and social activist Jami Chandio (Hyderabad, Sindh) raised important points by linking Faiz’s thought and art with the resistance tradition of the subcontinent and the contemporary political situation. In his presidential address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran called Urdu poetry, especially Faiz’s poetry, essential for achieving contemporary consciousness. In this session, a serious discussion took place on the interrelationship between Faiz studies, contemporary consciousness and contemporary literature, which the participants listened to with deep interest. The program was conducted by Dr. Mazhar Abbas, Department of Urdu and Iqbal Studies, very amiably. At the end of the inaugural session, the Vice Chancellor and the guest speakers described the Faiz Literary Festival as an important effort to promote literature, intellectual dialogue and awaken creative consciousness among the young generation.

بہاولپور (پ ر) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے زیرِ اہتمام فیض ادبی میلہ چوتھا سیزن کا باقاعدہ آغاز آج عباسیہ کیمپس کے غلام محمد گھوٹوی ہال میں ہوا، جہاں افتتاحی سیشن ایک پُروقار اور علمی فضا میں منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس کی صدارت پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران، وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے کی، جب کہ استقبالیہ کلمات پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سید عامر سہیل ڈین فیکلٹی آف آرٹس اینڈ لینگویجز نے پیش کیے اور فیض احمد فیض کا کلام لیاقت رضا جعفری شاعر و مترجم، ملتان نے دلنشیں انداز میں سنایا۔ افتتاحی سیشن کی کلیدی گفتگو معروف محقق و ماہرِ فیض ڈاکٹر تقی عابدی (کینیڈا) نے پیش کی، جنہوں نے فیض احمد فیض کی شاعری کو تہذیبی شعور، سیاسی جدوجہد اور انسانی آزادی کے تناظر میں معنی خیز انداز سے اجاگر کیا۔ ممتاز نقاد، دانشور اور سماجی ایکٹیوسٹ جامی چانڈیو (حیدر آباد، سندھ) نے فیض کے فکر و فن کو برصغیر کی مزاحمتی روایت اور معاصر سیاسی صورتِ حال کے ساتھ جوڑتے ہوئے اہم نکات اٹھائے۔ صدر محفل وائس پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران، وائس چانسلر نے اپنی صدارتی گفتگو میں اردو شاعری بالخصوص کلام فیض کو عصری شعور کے حصول کے لیے لازم قرار دیا۔ اس نشست میں فیض شناسی، عصری شعور اور معاصر ادب کے باہمی ربط پر سنجیدہ مکالمہ ہوا، جسے شرکاء نے گہری دلچسپی کے ساتھ سنا۔ پروگرام کی نظامت ڈاکٹر مظہر عباس شعبہ اردو و اقبالیات نے نہایت خوش اسلوبی سے انجام دی۔ افتتاحی سیشن کے اختتام پر وائس چانسلر اور مہمانِ مقررین نے فیض ادبی میلے کو فروغِ ادب، فکری مکالمے اور نوجوان نسل میں تخلیقی شعور بیدار کرنے کی ایک اہم کاوش قرار دیا۔
