شعبہ ایجوکیشنل ٹریننگ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے زیر اہتمام دو روزہ ہائرایجوکیشن انٹرنیشنل کانفرنس منعقد ہوئی۔ دیرپا ترقی کے اہداف  میں اعلیٰ تعلیم کے کردار کے موضوع پر منعقد ہونے والی اس کانفرنس میں دیرپا ترقی کے 17 اہداف کے حصول میں تدریس و تحقیق کا معیار زیر بحث آیا۔ کانفرنس کا افتتاح کرتے ہوئے وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹراطہر محبوب نے کہا کہ اس اہم ترین موضوع پر منعقد ہونے والی کانفرنس میں ملکی اور غیر ملکی ماہرین کی شرکت اعلیٰ تعلیمی اداروں میں دیرپا ترقی کے اہداف کے نفاذ میں معاون ثابت ہو گی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سماجی ترقی اور علاقائی اور بین الاقوامی یگانگت  کے لیے اعلیٰ تعلیمی اداروں کا مضبوط ہونا انتہائی ضروری ہے۔ یونیورسٹی کے اساتذہ اور محققین، سول سوسائٹی، صنعتی اور تجارتی اداروں، دیگر طبقات اور عام لوگوں سے اشتراک عمل کے ذریعے اہم ترین مسائل کا حل پیش کر سکتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مختلف جامعات میں SDG's کو اپنی ادارہ جاتی پالیسی میں شامل کیا ہے۔ دیرپا اور ماحول دوست گرین کیمپس ایک یونیورسٹی کے لیے اور اس کے اردگرد معاشرے کے لیے بہت ضروری ہے اور یونیورسٹیاں اس کے نفاذ کے ذریعے معاشرے میں احسن کردار ادا کرسکتی ہیں۔ ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ارشاد حسین نے کہا کہ اس کانفرنس کا مقصد اقوام متحدہ کی طرف سے دیئے گئے دیرپا ترقی کے اہداف کے نفاذ کے لیے ضروری تھا۔ اس سلسلے میں ماہرین نے متعلقہ موضوعات پر تحقیقی مقالے پیش کیے اور ایک دوسرے کے مشاہدات اور تجربات کا تبادلہ کیا۔ کانفرنس میں حاصل کی گئی سفارشات پالیسی میکراداروں تک پہنچائی جائیں گی۔ ڈین فیکلٹی آف ڈسٹنس ایجوکیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اختر علی نے اعلیٰ تعلیم کے فروغ میں فاصلاتی نظام تعلیم کے بارے میں روشنی ڈالی۔ ڈاکٹر حافظ محمد اطہر خان چیئرمین شعبہ ایجوکیشنل ٹریننگ نے کانفرنس میں مندوبین کو خوش آمدید کہا۔ فوکل پرسن ڈاکٹر محمد شاکر نے کانفرنس کے اغراض ومقاصد بیان کیے۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ناصر محمود وائس چانسلر علامہ اقبال اوپن یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد نے کلیدی خطبے میں پاکستان میں ہائرایجوکیشن کے مستقبل پر تفصیلی گفتگو کی اور 21 ویں صدی میں پاکستان کو درپیش ہائر ایجوکیشن کے چیلنجز کا احاطہ کیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر جاوید اقبال سابق پرنسل قائداعظم میڈیکل کالج بہاول پور نے کہا کہ تعلیم نہ صرف انفرادی ترقی، قومی بلکہ عالمی ترقی کے لیے ضروری ہے۔ مضبوط تعلیمی نظام کے حامل ممالک صف اول کی قوموں کا درجہ رکھتے ہیں۔ انفرادی طور پر کردار سازی کی ضرور ت ہے اور ہمارے اساتذہ ان اخلاقی اقدار کو طلباء طالبات میں پروان چڑھا سکتے ہیں۔ پروفیسر ٹی ایس محمد ستار رسول چیئرمین سنٹر آف سٹیم ایجوکیشن، فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن، یونیورسٹی کیبنگسان ملائیشیا، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد اسلم ادیب، پرو ریکٹر NCBAE بہاولپور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر خالد خورشید، سابق چیئرمین شعبہ تعلیم بہاء الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی  ملتان، پروفیسر کرسٹوفر ہل، فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن برٹش یونیورسٹی دبئی، غازی محبوب عالم شعبہ فاؤنڈیشن ایجوکیش فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشنل سٹڈیز یونیورسٹی پٹرا ملائیشیا، ڈاکٹر کولپا سورتانا، فیکلٹی آف لاجسٹک اینڈ ڈیجیٹل سپلائی چین ناریسوان یونیورسٹی تھائی لینڈ، ڈاکٹر صاحبی حیدری اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر شعبہ تعلیم ٹیکنالوجی ہائر کالج ابو ظہبی یو اے ای اور میکاریو جی گیتا فلپائن کرسچن یونیورسٹی گریجویٹ اسٹڈیز، بزنس مینجمنٹ اینڈ ٹرانس نیشنل ایجوکیشن منیلا فلپائن اور دیگر اہم مقررین نے خطاب کیا، جبکہ کانفرنس کے آٹھ سیشنز میں 148 تحقیقی مقالے پیش کیے گئے۔

Department of Educational Training, Islamia University, Bahawalpur organized a two-day Higher Education International Conference. The quality of teaching and research in achieving the 17 goals of sustainable development was discussed in this conference held on the topic of the role of higher education in the goals of sustainable development. Inaugurating the conference, Vice Chancellor, the  Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that the participation of local and foreign experts in the conference organized on this most important topic will help in the implementation of long-term development goals in higher educational institutions. He said that the strengthening of higher education institutions is very important for social development and regional and international integration. University faculty and researchers can offer solutions to pressing issues through collaboration with civil society, industrial and commercial organizations, other sectors and the general public. He said that various universities have included SDG's in their institutional policy. A sustainable and environmentally friendly green campus is very important for a university and its surrounding society and universities can play a positive role in society by implementing it. Dean Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Irshad Hussain said that the purpose of this conference was necessary for the implementation of sustainable development goals given by the United Nations. In this regard, experts presented research papers on related topics and exchanged observations and experiences with each other. The recommendations obtained in the conference will be conveyed to the policy makers. Dean Faculty of Distance Education Prof. Dr. Akhtar Ali said that in light on the distance education system in the promotion of higher education. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Athar Khan Chairman Educational Training Department welcomed the delegates to the conference. Focal person Dr. Muhammad Shakir explained the aims and objectives of the conference. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mehmood, Vice-Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, in his keynote address, discussed in detail the future of higher education in Pakistan and covered the challenges of higher education facing Pakistan in the 21st century. Professor Dr. Javed Iqbal, former Prince Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur, said that education is not only important for individual development, but also for national and global development. Countries with strong education systems rank among the top nations. Individual character building is essential and our teachers can inculcate these moral values in students. Prof. TS Muhammad Sattar Rasool, Chairman Center of STEM Education, Faculty of Education, Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Adeeb, Pro-Rector, NCBAE Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Khalid Khurshid, Former Chairman, Department of Education, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Prof. Christopher Hill , Faculty of Education British University Dubai, Ghazi Mahboob Alam Department of Foundation Education Faculty of Educational Studies University of Putra Malaysia, Dr. Kolpa Surtana, Faculty of Logistics and Digital Supply Chain Nariswan University Thailand, Dr. Sahibi Hydari     Assistant Professor Department of Education Technology Higher College Abu Dhabi UAE and Macario G. Gita Philippine Christian University Graduate Studies, Business Management and Transnational Education Manila Philippines and other keynote speakers, while 148 research papers were presented in eight sessions of the conference.
