Honorable Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob expresses the value of Hakra Civilization

Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob has said that Hakra Civilization is the great heritage of Bahawalpur region. It is an appreciative step of Arts Council Bahawalpur to organize weekly cultured events regarding Hakra Civilization. The Vice Chancellor expressed these views while talking to Director Arts Council Bahawalpur Sajjad Hussain. He said that the Department of Archeology in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, is working in Cholistan to excavate the remains of Hakra. The university is also setting up a museum to preserve the relics of Hakra civilization. On this occasion, Director Art Council Bahawalpur briefed the Vice Chancellor about the cultural programs organized by the Punjab Government in the Arts Councils across the province. He said that the role of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur will be very important in organizing Cholistan Festival. In this regard, the university's departments of History, Archaeology, Art and Design, Saraiki, Persian, Arabic, English, Media Studies, Tourism Management, IUB DOST and Department of Public Relations have an important role. The Vice Chancellor directed that the university should take full participation in organizing the Cholistan Festival and promoting the culture of the region. Director Press Media and Publications Shahzad Ahmed Khalid, Zakaullah Program Officer Arts Council Bahawalpur and Athar Lashari, Lecturer Department of Saraiki were present on this occasion.

وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئرپروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا ہے کہ ہاکڑا تہذیب خطہ بہاول پور کی عظیم میراث ہے۔ ہاکڑا تہذیب کے حوالے سے آرٹس کونسل بہاول پور کی جانب سے ہفتہ تقریبات کا انعقاد خوش آئند امر ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار ڈائریکٹر آرٹس کونسل بہاول پور سجاد حسین سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں شعبہ آرکیالوجی ہاکڑا کے آثار کی کھدائی کے لیے چولستان میں کام کر رہا ہے، جس پر کافی پیش رفت ہو چکی ہے۔ یونیورسٹی ہاکڑا تہذیب کے آثار کو محفوظ کرنے کے لیے ایک میوزیم بھی قائم کر رہی ہے۔ اس موقع پر ڈائریکٹر آرٹ کونسل بہاول پور نے وائس چانسلر کو حکومت پنجاب کی جانب سے پنجاب بھر کی آرٹس کونسلوں میں منعقد ہونے والے ثقافتی پروگراموں کی تفصیل سے آگاہ کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ چولستان فیسٹیول کے انعقاد میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا کردارنہایت اہم ہو گا۔ اس سلسلے میں یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ جات تاریخ، آرکیالوجی، آرٹ اینڈ ڈیزائن، سرائیکی، فارسی، عربی، انگریزی، میڈیا سٹڈیز، ٹورازم مینجمنٹ، آئی یو بی دوست اور شعبہ تعلقات عامہ کا کرداراہمیت کا حامل ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے ہدایت کی کہ چولستان فیسٹیول کے شایان شان انعقاد اور خطے کی تہذیب و ثقافت کواجاگر کرنے کے لیے یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے بھرپورشرکت کی جائے۔ اس موقع پر ڈائریکٹر پریس میڈیا اینڈ پبلیکیشنز شہزاد احمد خالد، ذکاء اللہ پروگرام آفیسرآرٹس کونسل بہا ول پور اور اطہر لاشاری لیکچرار شعبہ سرائیکی موجود تھے۔
