In connection with the International Day of Forests 2026, a tree plantation activity was held

In connection with the International Day of Forests a tree plantation activity was held at Nursery Area of Institute of Forest Sciences Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus Islamia University of Bahawalpur to highlight the importance of forests and promote environmental conservation. On this occasion Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran participated in tree plantation activity and underscored the critical role forests play in maintaining ecological balance, conserving biodiversity and mitigating the impacts of climate change. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged students and faculty to actively contribute to environmental protection. The event was organized under the leadership of Director, Institute of Forest Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafay who also took part in the plantation drive by planting a tree and motivating participants to play their role in creating a greener and healthier environment. As part of the celebration, an awareness walk was also arranged in which faculty members, staff and students participated enthusiastically. The walk aimed to raise awareness about the importance of forests and to reinforce the collective responsibility of society in protecting and sustaining forest resources for future generations.

جنگلات کے عالمی دن کے حوالے سے انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فاریسٹ سائنسز بغداد الجدید کیمپس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور کے نرسری ایریا میں جنگلات کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرنے اور ماحولیاتی تحفظ کو فروغ دینے کے لیے شجر کاری کی سرگرمی کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے درخت لگانے کی سرگرمیوں میں حصہ لیا اور ماحولیاتی توازن کو برقرار رکھنے اور ماحولیاتی تبدیلیوں کے اثرات کو کم کرنے میں جنگلات کے اہم کردار پر زور دیا۔ انہوں نے منتظمین کی کاوشوں کو سراہا اور طلباء اور اساتذہ کی حوصلہ افزائی کی کہ وہ ماحولیاتی تحفظ میں فعال کردار ادا کریں۔ تقریب کا انعقاد ڈائریکٹر انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فاریسٹ سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد رفیع کی سربراہی میں کیا گیا جنہوں نے شجرکاری مہم میں حصہ لیا اور درخت لگاکر شرکاء کو سرسبز اور صحت مند ماحول بنانے میں اپنا کردار ادا کرنے کی ترغیب دی۔ اس موقع پر آگاہی واک بھی منعقد ہوئی جس کا مقصد جنگلات کی اہمیت کے بارے میں شعور اجاگر کرنا اور آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے جنگلاتی وسائل کے تحفظ اور اسے برقرار رکھنے میں معاشرے کی اجتماعی ذمہ داری کو تقویت دینا تھا۔
