شعبہ سیاسیات اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے زیر اہتمام تیسری بین الاقوامی کانفرنس بعنوان موجودہ دور میں پبلک پالیسی اینڈ گڈ گورننس کا آغاز ہو گیا۔ کانفرنس کا افتتاح وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کیا۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر بہاء الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی ملتان پروفیسر ڈاکٹر منصور اکبر کنڈی، سابق وائس چانسلر بہاء الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی ملتان پروفیسر ڈاکٹر خواجہ علقمہ، ڈائریکٹر فیکلٹی آف پبلک پالیسی رفاع انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد ڈاکٹر راشد آفتاب خصوصی طور پر شریک تھے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ اہم ترین موضوع پر شعبہ پولیٹیکل سائنس کی جانب سے کانفرنس کا انعقاد احسن اقدام ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بہترین گورننس کے لیے اکیڈمیا کا کردار بہت اہم ہے جو پالیسی کی بنیاد پر گورننس کے اصول وضع کرکے اس حوالے سے درپیش چیلنجز کو حل کر سکتے ہیں۔ اس موقع پر پولیٹیکل سائنس اور گورننس کے ماہرین کی موجودگی فیکلٹی اور طلباء وطالبات کو اس شعبے میں جدید ترین پیش رفت سے آگاہ کرے گی۔ ڈ ین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی نے کہا کہ گورننس کا موضوع قومی اور عالمی دونوں اعتبار سے نہایت اہمیت کا حامل ہے اور سماجی اور معاشی ترقی میں اس کے بہت اہم مضمرات ہیں۔ چیئرمین شعبہ پولیٹیکل سائنس پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مصور حسین بخاری نے کہا کہ شعبہ ہذا کے زیر اہتمام 5 بین الاقوامی کانفرنسز منعقد کی جا چکی ہیں۔ اس کانفرنس کے موقع پر ملکی اور غیر ملکی مندوبین کی موجودگی اور عہد حاضر میں گورننس کے چیلنجز، پبلک سروس کی فراہمی، مقامی حکومتیں، دیر پاترقی، وفاقی اکائیوں میں روابط، وباء کے دوران پبلک پالیسی، علاقائی تعاون و اشتراک، صنفی مسائل، ڈیجیٹل دور میں جدت کی اہمیت، انسانی حقوق، انصاف اور مضبوط ادارے اہم ترین موضوعات میں شامل ہیں۔ کانفرنس کے فوکل پرسن ڈاکٹر شکیل اختر نے کہا کہ دور حاضر میں گڈ گورننس جمہوری معاشروں کے لیے بہت ضروری ہے اور اس کی بنیاد پر پالیسی سازی کی جاتی ہے۔ اس کانفرنس میں پڑھے جانے والے تحقیقی مقالات سے عصر حاضر میں گورننس کو درپیش چیلنجز سے نمٹنے میں مدد ملے گی۔ پہلے روز شعبہ تاریخ اور مطالعہ پاکستان کے چیئرمین ڈاکٹر محبوب حسین نے پارلیمنٹ اور قومی یکجہتی اور ڈاکٹر عثمان ابو نائجیریا نے کثیر نسلی ملکوں میں پبلک پالیسی اور گورننس کے مسائل کے موضوع پر خطاب کیا۔

The Department of Political Science, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized the 3rd international conference on Public Policy and Good Governance in the present era has started. The conference was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakaria University Multan Prof. Dr. Mansoor Akbar Kundi, former Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakaria University Multan Prof. Dr. Khawaja Alkamah, Director of Faculty of Public Policy Rafa International University Islamabad Dr. Rashid Aftab were present. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said in his address that organizing a conference on the most important topic by the Department of Political Science is a good initiative. He said that the role of academia is very important for good governance which can solve the challenges faced in this regard by formulating principles of governance based on policy. On this occasion, the presence of political science and governance experts will inform the faculty and students about the latest developments in this field. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti said that the subject of governance is very important both nationally and internationally is important and has very important implications in social and economic development. Chairman Department of Political Science Prof. Dr. Musavir Hussain Bukhari said that 5 international conferences have been organized under the auspices of this department. On the occasion of this conference, the presence of domestic and foreign delegates and the challenges of governance in the present era, public service delivery, local governments, delays, links in federal units, public policy during the epidemic, regional cooperation and collaboration, gender issues, The importance of innovation in the digital age, human rights, justice and strong institutions are among the most important topics. The focal person of the conference, Dr. Shakeel Akhtar, said that nowadays good governance is very important for democratic societies and policies are made based on it. The research papers read in this conference will help in dealing with the challenges faced by governance in the present day. On the first day, Dr. Mehboob Hussain, chairman of the Department of History and Pakistan Studies, discussed Parliament and National Unity and Dr. Usman Abu from Nigeria talked about governance issues in multi-ethnic countries.
