Advancing the Role of Women in STEM: A Special Event Organized by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Institute of Physics the Islamia University Bahawalpur celebrated International Women’s Day with a special event in recognition of the outstanding contributions of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The event was hosted by Dr. Alia Nazir, Member Syndicate. The participation of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics was highlighted on the occasion. A major feature of the event was the inauguration of the Center for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The center aims to provide guidance, resources and opportunities to encourage more women to pursue and specialize in careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf, Director Students Affairs and Dean Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences. Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, Dean Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences expressed their commitment to advancing the role of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. An exhibition was also organized by the students at the event. The Departments of Biology, Mathematics, Architecture Engineering, and the Institute of Physics actively participated in this exhibition. Director Institute of Physics, Professor Dr. Altaf Hussain thanked all the distinguished guests, faculty members, and students for their participation and encouragement.

بہاولپور (پ ر) انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی، انجینئرنگ اور ریاضی میں خواتین کی شاندار خدمات کے اعتراف میں خصوصی تقریب کے ساتھ خواتین کا عالمی دن منایا۔ اس تقریب کی میزبان ڈاکٹر عالیہ نذیر ممبر سینڈیکیٹ تھیں۔ اس موقع پر سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی، انجینئرنگ اور ریاضی کے شعبوں میں خواتین کی شمولیت کو اجاگر کیا گیا۔ تقریب کی ایک اہم خصوصیت سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی، انجینئرنگ اور ریاضی میں خواتین کے لیے مرکز کا افتتاح تھا۔ اس مرکز کا مقصد رہنمائی، وسائل اور مواقع فراہم کرنا ہے تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ خواتین کو سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی، انجینئرنگ اور ریاضی کے کیریئر میں آگے بڑھنے اور مہارت حاصل کرنے کی ترغیب دی جاسکے۔ تقریب کی صدارت پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالرؤف ڈائریکٹر سٹوڈنٹس افیئرز اور ڈین فیکلٹی آف کیمیکل اینڈ بائیولوجیکل سائنسز نے کی۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر غلام مصطفی ڈین فیکلٹی آف فزیکل اینڈ میتھمیٹیکل سائنسز اور ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز نے سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی، انجینئرنگ اور ریاضی کے شعبوں میں خواتین کے کردار کو آگے بڑھانے کے عزم کا بھر پور اظہار کیا۔ تقریب میں طالبات کی جانب سے ایک نمائش کا بھی اہتمام کیا گیا۔ اس نمائش میں شعبہ حیاتیات، ریاضی، آرکیٹیکچر انجینئرنگ، اور انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس نے فعال شرکت کی۔ ڈائریکٹر انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس پروفیسر ڈاکٹر الطاف حسین نے تمام معزز مہمانوں، فیکلٹی ممبران اور طلباء کی شرکت اور حوصلہ افزائی پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔
