A four-day high-level consultative workshop began at Islamia University Bahawalpur on the direction of the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training to formulate recommendations regarding Education Policy 2021. The Federal Ministry has selected Islamia University of Bahawalpur for a joint meeting of South Punjab universities, colleges, schools, madrassas and academics. In this regard, stakeholders from the public and private sectors will discuss the Education Policy 2021 and after consultation, recommendations will be sent to the Federal Ministry of Education. The Inter-University Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences is partnering with Islamia University of Bahawalpur to organize this consultative meeting. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mhboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur inaugurated the workshop in a special ceremony today. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Vice Chancellor, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bahawalpur, and Chief Executive Officer Education, Zahoor Ahmad Chauhan were also present on the occasion. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that the vision of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is to discuss issues of national importance by connecting directly with the community. On the direction of the Government of Pakistan, the Islamia University is hosting this four-day consultative meeting to make recommendations on education that are in line with national aspirations and future needs. He said that the education policy should be in line with the international education standards and in line with our social and ideological needs. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Vice Chancellor, Cholistan University of Veterinary Animal Sciences said that we have to impart moral and constructive training to the students and the focus of the policy should be human development. Zahoor Ahmad Chauhan, Chief Executive Officer said that education is a basic human need and the real basis of human development. Education policy should be tailored to the needs of society. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Adeeb, Pro-Rector, National College of Commerce and Business Administration, Bahawalpur said that a general framework for national policy should be formulated and a green paper document should be prepared. We should benefit from our research and the education policy should actually be formulated by the practitioners. There should be technology based education policy and obstacles in this regard should be removed. Urdu translations of modern sciences should be done. We should recognize the reality of online education. Social literacy and adult education must also be taken into account. Dr. Shehzad Karim, Assistant Professor of Linguistics, spoke on the curriculum, teaching methods and teacher training at the school level. Prof. Dr. Irshad Hussain, Chairman, Department of Education, said that under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice-Chancellor, heads of higher educational institutions, colleges and school centers of South Punjab, academics, researchers and teachers are participating in the consultative meeting. The four-day workshop will focus on uniform curriculum, technical and vocational education, skill training, quality education from school to college and university, setting standards for national and international educational goals, and collaborating with international institutions. Faculty of Education Professor Dr. Akhtar Ali thanked the delegates for attending the workshop. On the second day of the workshop, the Vice Chancellors of Public and Private Universities of South Punjab will participate in the consultative meeting. On the third day, scholars from madrassas will discuss religious education and madrassa curricula. On the last day of the workshop, prominent people from various sections of the society will present suggestions on education policy.

بہاول پور (پ ر) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں وفاقی وزارت تعلیم وپیشہ ورانہ تربیت کی ہدایت پر ایجوکیشن پالیسی  2021کے حوالے سے سفارشات مرتب کر نے کے لیے چار روزہ اعلیٰ سطحی مشاورتی اجلاس کا اغاز ہو گیا۔ وفاقی وزارت نے جنوبی پنجاب کی جامعات، کالجز، سکولز، مدارس اور ماہرین تعلیم کے مشترکہ اجلاس کے لیے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا انتخاب کیا ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں سرکاری، پبلک وپرائیویٹ سیکٹر سے تعلق رکھنے والے سٹیک ہولڈرز ایجوکیشن پالیسی 2021کے حوالے سے گفتگو کریں گے اور مشاورت کے بعد سفارشات وفاقی وزارت تعلیم کو بھیجی جائیں گی۔ انٹر یونیورسٹی کنسورشیم برائے ترقی سوشل سائنسز اس مشاورتی اجلاس کے انعقاد میں جامعہ اسلامیہ بہاول پور سے اشتراک کر رہا ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے آج ایک خصوصی تقریب میں اس ورکشاپ کا افتتاح کیا۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سجاد خان وائس چانسلر چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینمل سائنسز بہاول پور، چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر ایجوکیشن ظہور احمد چوہان بھی موجود تھے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا ویژن ہے کہ کمیونٹی سے براہِ راست منسلک ہو کر قومی اہمیت کے امور پر بات چیت کی جائے۔ حکومت پاکستان کی ہدایت پر جامعہ اسلامیہ اس چار روزہ مشاورتی اجلاس کی میزبانی کر رہی ہے تاکہ تعلیم کے حوالے سے ایسی سفارشات مرتب ہوں جو قومی امنگوں اور مستقبل کی ضرورتوں سے ہم آہنگ ہوں۔ انہو ں نے کہا کہ تعلیمی پالیسی بین الاقوامی تعلیمی معیارات سے مطابقت رکھتی ہو اور ہماری معاشرتی اور نظریاتی ضرورتوں سے ہم آہنگ ہو۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سجاد خان وائس چانسلر چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینمل سائنسز نے کہا کہ ہمیں طلباء کی اخلاقی اور تعمیری تربیت کرنا ہو گی اور پالیسی کا محور انسانی ترقی ہونا چاہیے۔ ظہور احمد چوہان چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر نے کہا کہ تعلیم انسان کی بنیادی ضرورت ہے اور انسانی ترقی کی اصل بنیاد ہے۔ تعلیمی پالیسی کو معاشرتی ضرورتوں کے مطابق مرتب ہونا چاہیے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد اسلم ادیب پرو ریکٹر نیشنل کالج آف کامرس اینڈ بزنس ایڈمنسٹریشن بہاول پور نے کہا کہ قومی پالیسی کے لیے جنرل فریم ورک مرتب کیا جائے اور گرین پیپر ڈاکومنٹ تیار کیا جائے۔ ہمیں اپنی ریسرچ سے فائدہ اُٹھانا چاہیے اور تعلیمی پالیسی دراصل اساتذہ کو ہی مرتب کرنی چاہیے۔ ٹیکنالوجی بیسڈ تعلیمی پالیسی ہونی چاہیے اور اس حوالے سے حائل رکاوٹوں کو دور کرنا چاہیے۔ جدید علوم کے اُردو تراجم کیے جائیں۔ آن لائن تعلیم کی حقیقت کو تسلیم کیا جائے۔ سوشل لٹریسی اور بزرگوں کی تعلیم کو بھی مدِ نظر رکھنا ہوگا۔ ڈاکٹر شہزاد کریم اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر لینگوئسٹکس نے سکول کی سطح پر نصاب، طریقہ تعلیم اور اساتذہ کی تربیت پر گفتگو کی۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ارشاد حسین چیئر مین شعبہ ایجوکیشن نے کہا کہ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر کی رہنمائی میں جنوبی پنجاب کے اعلی تعلیمی اِدارے، کالجز اور سکول سنٹر سے منسلک سربراہان، ماہرین تعلیم، محققین اور اساتذہ کرام مشاورتی اجلاس میں شریک ہیں۔ اس چار روزہ ورکشاپ میں یکساں نصاب تعلیم، ٹیکنیکل اور ووکیشنل ایجوکیشن، سکل ٹریننگ، سکول سے کالج اور جامعات تک معیاری تعلیم، نیشنل اور انٹر نیشنل تعلیمی احداف کے لیے معیارات کی تشکیل اور بین الاقوامی اداروں سے اشتراک عمل سے متعلق گفتگو ہوگی۔ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اختر علی نے ورکشاپ میں شرکت پر مندوبین کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ ورکشاپ کے دوسرے روز جنوبی پنجاب کی سرکاری ونجی جامعات کے وائس چانسلرز مشاورتی اجلاس میں شریک ہوں گے۔ تیسرے روز مدارس سے علمائے کرام دینی تعلیم اور مدارس کے نصاب پر گفتگو کریں گے۔ ورکشاپ کے آخری روز معاشرے کے مختلف طبقات سے تعلق رکھنے والے نمایاں افراد تعلیمی پالیسی سے متعلق تجاویز پیش کریں گے۔
