Muneeza Imran Moeed, a brilliant student represented IUB in the Policy Research Project under PMYP

Muneeza Imran Moeed, a talented student of BS Education Department the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, represented the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in the policy research project under the Prime Minister Youth Program according to the environmental vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the United Nations. In this program, the Youth Policy Lab (YPL) platform under the umbrella of Generation In Ltd., with the support of the School of Leadership Foundation, the United Nations Organizations UNICAEF, under the NDP and the Prime Minister's Youth Program, university youth were united. Muneeza chose an organization School of Leadership Foundation Islamabad which will carry out policy research regarding the actions, shortcomings and proposals in various sectors in Pakistan regarding environmental change. The need to be aware of the need for changes in the educational curriculum and practical activities should be organized for teachers and students. The said institution approved them to standardize the specific schools of Bahawalpur division by reviewing the current curriculum and practical activities and formulating a policy review for their deficiencies and suggested measures. Muneeza accepted the challenge and completed this task in two months. Later, the institution informed the government circles about this policy research. Muneeza Imran Moeed presented the recommendations of this policy research at a grand function in Islamabad in the presence of Chairman Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan. He said that students and teachers should be made aware of environmental change in the educational curriculum and they will be included in practical activities along with the curriculum. Chairman Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed appreciated this research policy and indicated to make it a part of the curriculum in future. This is a great achievement, the result of the hard work and determination of a university student from this underprivileged area. Muneeza says that since the Industrial Revolution, gases have been spreading heat into the Earth's atmosphere, resulting in global temperatures. Deforestation also removes natural carbon sinks. Agricultural activities Chemicals used in agriculture and methane gas emitted by livestock contribute to climate change. The effects of climate change are being felt in different ways around the world. Rising temperatures are causing more heat waves, droughts, and loss of forest cover. Climate change is changing the pattern of extreme weather events such as floods, storms, and rainfall. These changes are having adverse effects on agriculture, water resources, and human life. In these situations, it is necessary to inform people about climate change and educate them about its effects and solutions. Those necessary changes should be made in the educational curriculum related to environmental change and students including teachers should be included in practical activities. Climate change is a real and serious threat that requires efforts at all levels. Every individual, community, and country has to play their part so that we can make our earth safe and sustainable for future generations. Muneeza attributes her success to the love and prayers of her parents, along with the trust and training of her teachers at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. She is determined to continue working on climate change alongside her higher education.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے شعبہ ایجوکیشن بی ایس کی ہونہار طالبہ منیزہ عمران معید نے وزیراعظم پاکستان اور اقوام متحدہ کے ماحولیاتی وژن کے مطابق پرائم منسٹر یوتھ پروگرام کے تحت پالیسی ریسرچ پروجیکٹ میں جامعہ اسلامیہ بہاول پور کی نمائندگی کرتے ہوئے نمایاں کارکردگی کا مظاہرہ کیا۔ اس پروگرام میں نوجوانوں کو جامع ماحولیاتی پالیسیوں کی تشکیل کے لئے بااختیار بنانے کیلئے جنریشن ان لمیٹڈ کی چھتری کے تلے یوتھ پالیسی لیب (وائے پی ایل) پلیٹ فارم نے سکول آف لیڈر شپ فاونڈیشن کے تعاون و معاونت سے اقوام متحدہ کے اداروں یونیسف، یو این ڈی پی اور پرائم منسٹرز یوتھ پروگرام کے تحت جامعات کے نوجوانوں کو متحد کیا گیا۔ منیزہ نے ایک ادارے سکول آف لیڈر شپ فاؤنڈیشن اسلام آباد کا انتخاب کیا جو ماحولیاتی تبدیلی کے حوالے سے پاکستان میں مختلف شعبہ جات میں ہونے والے اقدامات، خامیوں اور تجاویز کے حوالے سے پالیسی ریسرچ سر انجام دے گا۔ اسی دوران منیزہ نے تحریری تجویز دی کہ ماحولیاتی تبدیلی سے آگاہی کی ضرورت تعلیمی نصاب میں تبدیلی اور اساتذہ اور طلباء کے لیے عملی سرگرمیوں کا اہتمام ہونا چاہیے۔ مذکورہ ادارے نے انہیں بہاولپور ڈویژن کے مخصوص سکولوں کو معیار بنا کر رائج نصاب اور عملی سرگرمیوں کا جائزہ لے کر ان کی خامیوں اور تجویز کردہ اقدامات کے لیٗے ایک پالیسی ریسرج مرتب کرنے کی منظوری دی۔ اس ٹاسک کو منیزہ نے چیلنج قبول کرتے ہو ئے دو ماہ میں پایہ تکمیل تک پہنچایا۔ بعد ازں ادارہ نے اس پالیسی ریسرچ سے متعلق حکومت حلقوں کو آگاہ کیا۔ منیزہ عمران معید نے اسلام آباد میں چیئرمین پرائم منسٹر یوتھ پروگرام رانا مشہود احمد خان کی موجودگی میں ایک بڑی تقریب میں اس پالیسی ریسرچ کی سفارشات کو پیش کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تعلیمی نصاب میں ماحولیاتی تبدیلی سے متعلق طلباء اور اساتذہ کی آگاہی دی جائے اور انہیں نصاب کے ساتھ عملی سرگرمیوں میں شامل کیا جائے گا۔ اس ریسرچ پالیسی کو چیئرمین وزیر اعظم یوتھ پروگرام رانا مشہود احمد نے سراہا اور اسے مستقبل میں نصاب کا حصہ بنانے کا عندیہ دیا۔ یہ ایک بڑی کامیابی ہے، جو اس پسماندہ علاقے کی ایک  جامعہ کی طالبہ کی محنت اور عزم کا نتیجہ ہے۔ منیزہ کا کہنا ہے کہ صنعتی انقلاب کے بعد سے گیسیں زمین کی فضا میں گرمی کو پھیلاتی ہیں، جس کے نتیجے میں عالمی درجہ حرارت بڑھتا ہے۔ جنگلات کی کٹائی سے قدرتی کاربن جذب کرنے والا ذریعہ بھی ختم ہوجاتا ہے۔ زرعی سرگرمیاں زراعت میں استعمال ہونے والے کیمیکلز اور مویشیوں سے خارج ہونے والی میتھین گیس ماحولیاتی تبدیلی میں اہم کردار ادا کرتی ہے۔ ماحولیاتی تبدیلی کے اثرات دنیا بھر میں مختلف انداز میں محسوس کیے جا رہے ہیں۔ درجہ حرارت میں اضافہ کے نتیجے میں گرمی کی لہریں، خشک سالی، اور جنگلاتی رقبے میں کمی میں اضافہ ہو رہا ہے۔ موسمیاتی تغیرات شدید موسمی حالات جیسے سیلاب، طوفان، اور بارشوں کے پیٹرن میں تبدیلی ہورہی ہے۔ یہ تبدیلیاں زراعت، پانی کے وسائل، اور انسانی زندگی پر منفی اثرات ڈال رہی ہیں۔ ان حالات میں لوگوں کو ماحولیاتی تبدیلی کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا جائے اور انہیں اس کے اثرات اور حل کے بارے میں تعلیم دی جائے۔ جس کے لیے ضروری ہے کہ تعلیمی نصاب میں ماحولیاتی تبدیلی سے متعلق ضروری تبدیلی کی جائے اور اساتذہ سمیت طلباء کو عملی سرگرمیوں میں لازمی شامل کیا جائے۔ ماحولیاتی تبدیلی ایک حقیقی اور سنگین خطرہ ہے جس سے نمٹنے کے لیے ہر سطح پر کوششیں ضروری ہیں۔ ہر فرد، کمیونٹی، اور ملک کو اپنا کردار ادا کرنا ہوگا تاکہ ہم اپنی زمین کو آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے محفوظ اور پائیدار بنا سکیں۔ منیزہ اپنی اس کامیابی کا سہرہ اپنی مادر علمی اسلامیہ یونی ورسٹی بہاول پور اپنے اساتذہ کرام کے اعتماد و تربیت کے ساتھ والدین کی شفقت اور دعاؤں کا نتیجہ قرار دیتی ہیں۔ ان کا عزم ہے کہ وہ اپنی اعلیٰ تعلیم کے ساتھ ماحولیاتی تبدیلی سے متعلق کام جاری رکھیں گی۔
