The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Department of Applied Psychology Initiates Mental Health Week, Fostering Awareness and Support for Psychological Well-being
The Department of Applied Psychology at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur takes pride in announcing the initiation of the Mental Health Week. This week-long event, which commenced on Friday, aims to raise awareness about mental health and promote psychological well-being among students, faculty, and the wider community. The Mental Health Week is a significant initiative that addresses the importance of mental health and aims to reduce the stigma associated with it. The event kicked off on Friday with an interactive talk on mental health by Dr. Amjad Tufail, a guest speaker from MAO College Lahore, who shared valuable insights from a Muslim perspective. Throughout the week, a series of engaging activities have been planned, including a Mental Health Drive, Inauguration of Psychological Assessment Camps, a Poster Competition, Walk-in Psychological Assessment Camps, Theatre Time featuring animated movies and short films related to psychology and mental health, and a Psych Wall where the IUB community can express their perceptions related to mental health issues. The Department of Applied Psychology, under the guidance and supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem, the Chairman of the department, hopes that these events will foster understanding, support, and awareness for individuals facing mental health challenges, and create a more compassionate and inclusive society. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem, with his expertise and dedication, is keenly observing the events to ensure their success and impact.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور کے شعبہ اپلائیڈ سائیکالوجی کے تحت ذہنی صحت کے ہفتہ کا آغاز، نفسیاتی تندرستی کے لیے آگاہی اور تعاون کو فروغ دینے کے حوالے سے ہفتہ بھر کی تقریبا ت شروع ہو گئیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے شعبہ اپلائیڈ سائیکالوجی نے ذہنی صحت کے ہفتہ کے آغاز کا اعلان کرتے ہوئے اسے پورے کیمپس کے اساتذہ اور طلباء وطالبات کے لیے خوش آئند قرار دیا ہے۔ ان تقریبات کا مقصد ذہنی صحت کے بارے میں بیداری پیدا کرنا اور طلباء، اساتذہ اور وسیع تر کمیونٹی میں نفسیاتی بہبود کو فروغ دینا ہے۔ دماغی صحت کا ہفتہ ایک اہم اقدام ہے جو ذہنی صحت کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرتا ہے۔ پہلے روز ایم اے او کالج لاہور کے مہمان مقرر ڈاکٹر امجد طفیل کی ذہنی صحت پر ایک انٹرایکٹو گفتگو سے ہوا، جنہوں نے مسلم نقطہ نظر سے ذہنی صحت سے متعلق گفتگو کی ۔ چئیرمین شعبہ اطلاقی نفسیات ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم نے کہا ہے کہ پورے ہفتے کے دوران جاری رہنے والی ان سرگرمیوں کا مقصد دماغی صحت کی مہم، نفسیاتی تشخیص کے کیمپوں کا افتتاح، ایک پوسٹر مقابلہ، واک ان سائیکولوجیکل اسسمنٹ کیمپ، تھیٹر ٹائم میں اینی میٹڈ فلمیں اور نفسیات اور دماغی صحت سے متعلق مختصر فلمیں شامل ہیں اور ایک سائٹ وال جہاں یونیورسٹی کمیونٹی دماغی صحت کے مسائل سے متعلق اپنے تاثرات کا اظہار کر سکتی ہے۔  یہ تقریبات ذہنی صحت کے چیلنجوں کا سامنا کرنے والے افراد کے لیے افہام و تفہیم، مدد اور آگاہی کو فروغ دیں گی، اور ایک زیادہ ہمدرد اور فعال و مفید معاشرہ پروان چڑھے گا۔
