International Autism Day 2024 celebrated at Abassia Campus, IUB

On the occasion of International Autism Day, the historic building of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Abbasia Campus, was illuminated in blue. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, faculty members and students gathered to express solidarity with millions of autistic people around the world. World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated every year on 2nd April as per United Nations Resolution. As a tradition on this day, important buildings around the world are lit up in blue to show solidarity with patients and raise awareness about autism. On this occasion, a special awareness session was organized under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Chairman Department of Applied Psychology, in which faculty members and students actively participated. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem said that the United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared April 2 as the World Autism Awareness Day to highlight the need to help improve the quality of life of people with autism so that they can be an integral part of society and live a full and meaningful life. He thanked Registrar Muhammad Shaji ur Rehman, Director Public Relations Shahzad Ahmed Khalid and Engineering Department for their cooperation in organizing the activity.

بہاول پور( ) آٹزم کے بین الاقوامی دن کے موقع پر عباسیہ کیمپس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی تاریخی عمارت کو نیلے رنگ سے روشن کیا گیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر وائس چانسلر اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز کی ہدایت پر فیکلٹی ممبران اور طلبا و طالبات دنیا بھر کے لاکھوں آٹسٹک لوگوں کے ساتھ اظہار یکجہتی کے لیے جمع ہوئے۔آٹزم سے آگاہی کا عالمی دن ہر سال 2 اپریل کو اقوام متحدہ کی قرارداد کے مطابق پوری دنیا میں منایا جاتا ہے۔ اس دن کی روایت کے طور پر، مریضوں کے ساتھ اظہار یکجہتی اور آٹزم کے بارے میں بیداری پیدا کرنے کے لیے دنیا بھر میں اہم عمارتوں کو نیلے رنگ سے روشن کیا جاتا ہے۔ اس موقع پر عباسیہ کیمپس میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم چیئرمین شعبہ اپلائیڈ سائیکالوجی کی رہنمائی میں ایک خصوصی آگاہی سیشن کا انعقاد کیا گیا جس میں فیکلٹی ممبران اور طلبا و طالبات نے بڑھ چڑھ کر حصہ لیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم نے کہا کہ اقوام متحدہ کی جنرل اسمبلی نے متفقہ طور پر 2 اپریل کو آٹزم سے آگاہی کا عالمی دن قرار دیا ہے تاکہ آٹزم کے شکار افراد کے معیار زندگی کو بہتر بنانے میں مدد کی ضرورت کو اجاگر کیا جاسکے تاکہ وہ معاشرے کا ایک لازمی حصہ بن کر بھرپور اور بامقصد زندگی گزارسکیں۔ انہوں نے رجسٹرار محمد شجیع الرحمان، ڈائریکٹر پبلک ریلیشن شہزاد احمد خالد اور انجینئرنگ ڈیپارٹمنٹ کا سرگرمی کے انعقاد میں تعاون پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔
