IUB and Queen's University Ontario Canada has initiated 2nd Forensic Mental Health Certification Course 2023

The Department of Applied Psychology, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Queen's University Ontario Canada has initiated 2nd Forensic Mental Health Certification Course 2023 as a collaborator and Facilitator of Modules which are conducted on weekly basis online. In recent module, Course Instructor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Chairman, Department of Applied Psychology, delivered his lecture on Theories of Violent Crimes and Biopsychosocial Model of Criminal Behavior. The lecture was followed by a discussion on the Criminal Case Scenario. The discussion points were given to course attendees and Dr. Saleem than gave detailed analysis of the biopsychosocial theoretical framework which was relevant to the criminal case scenario. Dr. Areeha Khan Durrani Lecturer, Department of Applied Psychology, delivered the lecture on Formal Psychological Assessment in which various types of tests relevant to assessing an offender's mental health, personality, intelligence and risk assessment of criminal behavior were also discussed. A case of convicted individual was also discussed with attendees and a discussion was put up to identify psychological tests that can be utilized to furnish the formal psychological assessment report of an inmate.  This module was facilitated by Ms. Fasiha Nargis Deputy Registrar, and Ms. Lubna Azhar Principal Clinical Psychologist, Sheikh Zayed Medical College Lahore also delivered a lecture about the Clinical Interview informal assessment. This Forensic Mental Health Certification course is very beneficial for psychologists, especially those interested in working at the intersection of psychology and the legal system.

شعبہ اپلائیڈ سائیکالوجی، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور کوئنز یونیورسٹی اونٹاریو کینیڈا کے اشتراک سے فرانزک مینٹل ہیلتھ سرٹیفیکیشن کورس 2023 کا آن لائن انعقاد کیا گیا۔ کورس انسٹرکٹر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم چیئرمین شعبہ اپلائیڈ سائیکالوجی نے تھیوریز آف وائلنٹ کرائمز اور بائیو سائیکو سوشل ماڈل آف کریمنل ہیوئیر پر اپنا لیکچر دیا۔ لیکچر کے بعد فوجداری کیس کے منظر نامے پر بحث ہوئی اور بائیو سائیکو سوشل تھیوریٹیکل فریم ورک کا تفصیلی تجزیہ کیا گیا۔ ڈاکٹر عریحہ خان درانی لیکچرر، شعبہ اپلائیڈ سائیکالوجی نے رسمی نفسیاتی تشخیص پر لیکچر دیا جس میں مجرم کی ذہنی صحت، شخصیت، ذہانت اور مجرمانہ رویے کے خطرے کی تشخیص سے متعلق مختلف قسم کے ٹیسٹوں پر بھی تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔ سزا یافتہ فرد کے کیس پر بھی حاضرین کے ساتھ تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا اور نفسیاتی ٹیسٹوں کی نشاندہی کرنے کے لیے بحث کی گئی جو کسی قیدی کی نفسیاتی تشخیص کی رسمی رپورٹ پیش کرنے کے لیے استعمال کیے جا سکتے ہیں۔ اس ماڈیول کو فصیحہ نرگس ڈپٹی رجسٹرار نے پیش کیا۔ محترمہ لبنیٰ اظہر پرنسپل کلینیکل سائیکولوجسٹ، شیخ زید میڈیکل کالج لاہور نے بھی کلینیکل انٹرویو کے غیر رسمی تشخیص کے بارے میں ایک لیکچر دیا۔ یہ فرانزک مینٹل ہیلتھ سرٹیفیکیشن کورس ماہرین نفسیات کے لیے بہت فائدہ مند ہے، خاص طور پر وہ لوگ جو نفسیات اور قانونی نظام کے باہمی تعلق پر کام کرنے میں دلچسپی رکھتے ہیں۔
