IUB and UMT Lahore organized a training workshop on the topic of digital documenting of built heritage

Department of Architecture the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and School of Architecture and Planning University of Management and Technology Lahore organized a training workshop on the topic of digital documenting of built heritage. This workshop was an important step towards integrating traditional architectural preservation with the latest digital technologies. Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Engineer Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad inaugurated the workshop. Architect Ayaz Mehmood, head of the Department of Architecture, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, said that in an era where rapid urban sprawl and technological advancements are challenging our ability to protect historical structures, our commitment to preserving built heritage is even more important. Our aim is to discover and use digital tools and methods that can enhance the accuracy, efficiency and accessibility of architectural heritage documentation. The workshop focused on various aspects of digital documentation, including 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and GIS technologies, providing participants with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary for contemporary heritage conservation. Speakers and experts provided guidance on the intricacies of the digital documentation process and shared ideas on best practices and innovative approaches. The participants emphasized the need to be equipped with the necessary tools to overcome the complexities of architectural heritage conservation.

بہاولپور (پ ر) شعبہ آرکیٹیکچر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور اور سکول آف آرکیٹیکچر اینڈ پلاننگ یونیورسٹی آف مینجمنٹ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی لاہور کے اشتراک سے تعمیر شدہ ورثے کو ڈیجیٹل دستاویز کی شکل دینے کے موضوع پر تربیتی ورکشاپ منعقد ہوئی۔ یہ ورکشاپ جدید ترین ڈیجیٹل ٹیکنالوجیز کے ساتھ روایتی تعمیراتی تحفظ کو مربوط کرنے کی جانب ایک اہم قدم ہے۔ ڈین فیکلٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد امجد نے ورکشاپ کا افتتاح کیا۔ شعبہ آرکیٹیکچر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے سربراہ آرکیٹیکٹ آیاز محمود نے کہا کہ ایک ایسے دور میں جہاں تیزی سے شہری پھیلاو اور تکنیکی ترقی تاریخی ڈھانچے کی حفاظت کرنے کی ہماری صلاحیت کو چیلنج کررہی ہے، تعمیر شدہ ورثے کے تحفظ کے لیے ہماری وابستگی اور زیادہ اہم ہوجاتی ہے۔ ہمارا مقصد ڈیجیٹل ٹولز اور طریقہ کار کو دریافت کرنا اور ان کا استعمال کرنا ہے جو تعمیراتی ورثے کو دستاویزی شکل دینے، درستگی، کارکردگی اور رسائی کو بڑھا سکتے ہیں۔ اس ورکشاپ میں ڈیجیٹل دستاویزات کے مختلف پہلوؤں پر توجہ مرکوز کی گئی، بشمول 3 ڈی سکیننگ، فوٹو گرامیٹری اور جی آئی ایس ٹیکنالوجیز، جو شرکاء کو عصری ورثے کے تحفظ کے لیے ضروری عملی مہارت اور نظریاتی علم فراہم کرتی ہیں۔ مقررین اور ماہرین نے ڈیجیٹل دستاویزات کے عمل کی پیچیدگیوں کے بارے  رہنمائی کی اور بہترین طریقوں اور اختراعی طریقوں کے بارے میں اظہار خیال کیا۔ شرکاء نے تعمیراتی میراث کے تحفظ کی پیچیدگیوں کو دور کرنے کے لیے ضروری آلات سے آراستہ کرنے کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔
