IUB hosted a seminar with renowned artist Uzma Gilani titled "A Blend of Voice and Heritage."

The Department of Media and Communication Studies, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, organized a seminar titled Art: A Blend of Voice and Heritage with Uzma Gilani. The chief guest of the event was Pakistan’s legendary artist and pride of performance Uzma Gilani, whose illustrious career in television, theater and social work has inspired generations. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Dr. Adnan Malik, Chairman Department of Media Studies, Dr. Nayyar Mustafa, Additional Commissioner Bahawalpur and renowned jurist Amir Ajam Malik discussed the evolution of Pakistani media, the role of women in the creative arts and the legendary work of Uzma Gilani. In her address, Uzma Gilani reminisced about her long and memorable journey in Pakistan’s drama industry. She highlighted the service television once had to society. She said that true success lies not in fame but in the hearts you touch. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, appreciated the unparalleled contributions of Uzma Gilani to the art and culture of Pakistan. She said that Uzma Gilani’s powerful performance not only entertained the audience and viewers but also guided the society. The session was hosted by Agha Sadaf Mehdi, Senior Producer, Campus Radio FM 92.6, while Dr. Abida Noreen, Associate Professor, served as the focal person of the event. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Chairman, Department of Applied Psychology, Dr. Qaiser Ijaz, Department of Computer Sciences, Deputy Registrar Fatima Muzahir, and faculty members of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, Shafaq Manzoor, Afifa Paracha, Dr. Qamar Zaman, Miss Maham, Dr. Hanan Khan Tareen, Zain Zameer, Miss Bushra, and Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti were present.

بہاولپور (پ ر) شعبہ میڈیا اینڈ کمیونیکیشن سٹڈیز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے زیر اہتمام نے ایک سیمینار بعنوان آرٹ آواز اور میراث کا امتزاج عظمیٰ گیلانی کے ساتھ ایک سیشن کا انعقاد کیا۔ تقریب کی مہمان خصوصی پاکستان کی لیجنڈ فنکارہ اور پرائیڈ آف پرفارمنس عظمیٰ گیلانی تھیں جن کے ٹیلی ویژن، تھیٹر اور سماجی کاموں میں شاندار کیریئر نے نسلوں کو متاثر کیا ہے۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز اور ڈاکٹر عدنان ملک چیئرمین شعبہ میڈیا اسٹڈیز ڈاکٹر نیئر مصطفیٰ ایڈیشنل کمشنر بہاولپور اور نامور قانون دان امیر عجم ملک نے پاکستانی میڈیا کے ارتقاء تخلیقی فنون میں خواتین کے کردار اور عظمیٰ گیلانی کے لیجنڈری کام کے  کے بارے میں تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ اپنے خطاب میں عظمیٰ گیلانی نے پاکستان کی ڈرامہ انڈسٹری میں اپنے طویل اور یادگار سفر کی یادیں تازہ کیں۔ ایک زمانے میں ٹیلی ویژن کے معاشرے کی خدمت کو اجاگر کیا۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ حقیقی کامیابی شہرت میں نہیں بلکہ ان دلوں میں ہے جنہیں آپ چھوتے ہیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز نے پاکستان کے فن اور ثقافت میں عظمیٰ گیلانی کی بے مثال خدمات کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عظمیٰ گیلانی کی طاقتور پرفارمنس نے نہ صرف سامعین و ناظرین کو محظوظ کیا بلکہ معاشرے کی رہنمائی کی۔ سیشن کی میزبانی آغا صدف مہدی، سینئر پروڈیوسر کیمپس ریڈیو ایف ایم 92.6 نے کی جبکہ ڈاکٹر عابدہ نورین، ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر نے تقریب کی فوکل پرسن کے طور پر ذمہ داری سرانجام دیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم چیئرمین شعبہ اطلاقی نفسیات، ڈاکٹر قیصر اعجاز شعبہ کمپیوٹر سائنسز، ڈپٹی رجسٹرار فاطمہ مظاہر اور شعبہ میڈیا اینڈ کمیونیکیشن اسٹڈیز کی فیکلٹی ممبران شفق منظور، عفیفہ پراچہ، ڈاکٹر قمر زمان، مس ماہم، ڈاکٹر حنان خان ترین، زین ضمیر، مس بشریٰ، اور غلام مرتضیٰ بھٹی موجود تھے۔
