IUB hosted an awareness walk and webinar in connection with the National Minorities Day 2026 events

A week-long event was held at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on the occasion of National Minorities Day. In this regard, the webinar organized by the IUB Social Welfare and Human Rights Society and the IUB Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Society Directorate of Students Affairs was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Professor Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Director of Students Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Khubaib, Advisor IUB Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Muhammad Qasim Kamboh, Ambassador Human Rights and Peace Pakistan, Prashant Singh, Assistant Registrar University of the Punjab Lahore, Mobin Sheraz, Pandit Arjun Das and Father Irfan Christ OP. Meanwhile, an awareness walk was also held on the occasion of National Minorities Day. The walk was attended by Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha Director Student Affairs, Dr. Tahira Jabeen, Chairperson, Department of Social Work University of the Punjab Lahore, Dr. Aisha Shaukat Associate Professor Department of Social Work, Dr. Muhammad Jafar, Dr. Mansoor Ali Shah along with faculty members, staff and students. The participants expressed their commitment to promoting interfaith harmony, tolerance, mutual respect, peace and protection of minority rights. The walk aimed to raise awareness among students about the rights of minority communities and to promote the values of peaceful coexistence, inclusivity, and equal citizenship.

اقلیتوں کے قومی دن کے حوالے سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں ہفتہ روزہ تقریبات منعقد ہوئیں۔ اس سلسلے میں آئی یو بی سوشل ویلفیئر اینڈ ہیومن رائٹس سوسائٹی اور آئی یو بی مذہبی امور اور بین المذاھب ہم آہنگی سوسائٹی ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف اسٹوڈنٹس افیئرز کے زیر اہتمام ویبینار میں وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا ڈائریکٹر اسٹوڈنٹس افیئرز، ڈاکٹر محمد خبیب ایڈوائزر آئی یوبی مذہبی امور اور بین المذاھب ہم آہنگی، محمد قاسم کمبوہ ایمبیسیڈر ہیومن رائٹس اینڈ پیس پاکستان، پرشانت سنگھ، اسسٹنٹ رجسٹرار یونیورسٹی اف پنجاب لاہور، مبین شیراز، پنڈت ارجن داس اور فادر عرفان چیرسٹ او پی شریک ہوئے۔ دریں اثناء اقلیتوں کے قومی دن کی مناسبت سے آگاہی واک بھی منعقد ہوئی۔ واک میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا ڈائریکٹر سٹوڈنٹس افیئرز، ڈاکٹر طاہرہ جبین، چیئرپرسن شعبہ سوشل ورک پنجاب یونیورسٹی لاہور، ڈاکٹر عائشہ شوکت ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف سوشل ورک، ڈاکٹر محمد جعفر، ڈاکٹر منصور علی شاہ سمیت فیکلٹی ممبران، سٹاف اور طلباء نے شرکت کی۔ شرکاء نے بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی، رواداری، باہمی احترام، امن اور اقلیتوں کے حقوق کے تحفظ کے لیے اپنے عزم کا اظہار کیا۔ واک کا مقصد طلباء میں اقلیتی برادریوں کے حقوق کے بارے میں بیداری پیدا کرنا اور پرامن بقائے باہمی، شمولیت اور مساوی شہریت کی اقدار کو فروغ دینا تھا۔
