Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Musarrat Jabeen has said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is playing an important role in the social and economic development of the region through higher education and research. The research conducted in the university should be used for the welfare and improvement of the local communities. The Commissioner Bahawalpur expressed this while talking to the Chairman, Department of Social Work, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha and Director, Public Relations, Dr. Shahzad Ahmed Khalid. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha presented the report of the survey conducted on the socio-economic impact of the Cholistan Jeep Rally Bahawalpur, the research conducted last year on the direction of the Commissioner Bahawalpur. In this survey conducted by the Department of Social Work during the Cholistan Jeep Rally 2025, a review of the research done with the local community and tourists was presented. According to the report, the jeep rally creates short-term employment opportunities for the local community, leading to a temporary increase in income. Along with promoting tourism, the jeep rally plays a role in raising the standard of living of the local people. There is a need to make the social and economic impacts of the jeep rally sustainable. The report also examined the environmental impacts of the jeep rally. Commissioner Bahawalpur termed the report useful and directed that it be sent to the relevant government departments. She said that during the jeep rally coming month, the research activity should also focus on the welfare of the local community, especially women folk, and other aspects should be examined while expanding the research topics so that this tourism event can be made more effective for the betterment and development of the residents of Cholistan. Commissioner Bahawalpur expressed special gratitude to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran for his special cooperation in carrying out the research work and appreciated the performance of the research team.

کمشنر بہاولپور ڈویژن مسرت جبین نے کہا ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اعلیٰ تعلیم اور تحقیق کے ذریعے علاقے کی سماجی اور معاشی ترقی میں اہم کردار ادا کررہی ہے۔ یونیورسٹی میں ہونے والی تحقیق کو مقامی کمیونٹیز کی بھلائی اور بہتری کے لیئے استعمال ہونا چاہیے۔ کمشنر بہاولپور نے اس بات کا اظہار چیئرمین شعبہ سوشل ورک پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا اور ڈائریکٹر تعلقات عامہ ڈاکٹر شہزاد احمد خالد سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا نے کمشنر بہاولپور کی ہدایت پر گزشتہ برس چولستان جیپ ریلی بہاولپور کے سماجی و معاشی اثرات پر کئے گئے سروے کی رپورٹ پیش کی۔ شعبہ سوشل ورک کی جانب سے چولستان  جیپ ریلی 2025 میں کیے گئے اس سروے میں مقامی کمیونٹی اور سیاحوں سے کی گئی تحقیق کا جا ئزہ پیش کیا گیا۔ رپورٹ کے مطابق جیپ ریلی مقامی کمیونٹی کےلیے مختصر عرصہ کے لیے روزگار کے ذرائع پیدا کرکے آمدنی میں وقتی اضافے کا باعث بنتی ہے۔ جیپ ریلی سیاحت کے فروغ کے ساتھ ساتھ مقامی لوگوں کا معیار زندگی بلند کرنےمیں کردار ادا کرتی ہے۔ جیپ ریلی کے سماجی اور معاشی اثرات کو پائیدار بنانے کی ضرورت ہے۔ رپورٹ میں جیپ ریلی کے ماحولیاتی اثرات کا بھی جائزہ لیا گیا۔ کمشنر بہاولپور نے رپورٹ کو مفید قرار دیتے ہوئے متعلقہ اداروں کو بھیجنےکی ہدایت کی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ آئندہ ماہ جیپ ریلی کے موقع پر ریسرچ کے موضوعات کو بڑھاتے ہوئے مقامی کمیونٹی خاص طور پر خواتین کی بہبود اور دیگر پہلوؤں کا بھی جائزہ لیا جائے تاکہ اس سیاحتی ایونٹ کو چولستان کے مکینوں کی بہتری اور ترقی کے لیے زیادہ موثر بنایا جاسکے۔ کمشنر بہاولپور نے تحقیقی کام کو سرانجام دینے میں خصوصی تعاون پر وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران کا خصوصی شکریہ ادا کیا اور ریسرچ ٹیم کی کارکردگی کو سراہا۔
