IUB observed week on account of World Antimicrobial Awareness

The Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized a walk on account of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week. This aims to increase awareness of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and encourage best practices to avoid the further emergence and spread of drug resistance. The participants walked from the Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences to the Main Auditorium, where Prof. Dr. M. Khalid Mansoor, Dean Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences urged the participants, which included students, distinguished guests Mr. Rizwan Majeed, Dircetor Students Affairs and Dr. Maqshoof Ahmad, Director Academics and faculty members to make the public aware of the impact of AMR on global health and the risks associated with its emergence in coming years. He also highlighted the responsibilities of microbiologists in this perspective and mentioned that the world health organization has declared November 18–24 as World Antimicrobial Awareness Week. He also appreciated the efforts of respected faculty members and all students to make this event a success.

شعبہ مائیکرو بیالوجی، فیکلٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپورنے عالمی انسداد مائکروبیل آگاہی ہفتہ کے حوالے سے واک کا اہتمام کیا۔ اس کا مقصد اینٹی مائکروبیل ریزسٹنس (AMR) کے بارے میں آگاہی بڑھانا اور منشیات کے خلاف مزاحمت کے مزید ابھرنے اور پھیلنے سے بچنے کے لیے بہترین طریقوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنا ہے۔ اس موقع پر فیکلٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈاینیمل سائنسزسے مین آڈیٹوریم تک  آگاہی واک کا اہتمام بھی کیا گیا، جس میں ڈین فیکلٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ایم خالد منصور، معزز مہمان ڈائریکٹرسٹوڈنٹس افئیرز رضوان مجید اور ڈاکٹر مقصود احمداور دیگرفیکلٹی ممبران و طلباؤطالبات نے شرکت کی۔جہاں عالمی صحت پر AMR کے اثرات اور آنے والے سالوں میں اس کے ظہور سے منسلک خطرات سے عوام کو آگاہ کرنے اوراس تناظر میں مائیکرو بیالوجسٹ کی ذمہ داریوں پر بھی روشنی ڈالی اوربتایاکہ عالمی ادارہ صحت نے 18سے24نومبر تک عالمی اینٹی مائکروبیل آگاہی ہفتہ کے طور پر منایا ہے۔ آخرمیں انہوں نے اس تقریب کو کامیاب بنانے کے لیے معزز فیکلٹی ممبران اور تمام طلباء کی کوششوں کو بھی سراہا۔
