IUB observes 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan

The Independence Day of Pakistan was observed as Kashmir Solidarity Day at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The day began with Quran khawani and prayers for martyrs who sacrificed their lives for motherland and for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor hoisted the flag in a dignified ceremony at Abbasia Campus attended by faculty members, staff and students. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor in his address said that today is the most important day in our national history. This is the day when the Muslims of South Asia were blessed with freedom and a new Muslim country Pakistan emerged on the map of the world.On this occasion a ceremony to distribute shields and certificates among faculty members and students for showing performance in co-curricular activities was also held at Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall. Parliamentarian Syed Tabish Awari, Naseer Ahmed Nasir President Press Club and the representatives of civil society and media also attended the ceremony.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں یوم آزادی کی مرکزی تقریب عباسیہ کیمپس میں منعقد ہوئی۔ انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر نے پرچم کشائی کی۔ اس موقع پر ڈینز، سینئر اساتذہ کرام، طلبا وطالبات موجود تھے۔ غلام محمد گھوٹوی ہال میں جشن آزادی کی تقریب میں دانشور اور سینئر پارلیمنٹرین سید تابش الوری مہمان خصوصی تھے۔ اپنے صدارتی خطاب میں وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا کہ مسلمانوں نے برصغیر پاک وہند پر ایک ہزار برس حکومت کی۔ اس کے بعد 150برس کا دورِ غلامی بھی دیکھا جس کی بنیادی وجہ تعلیم اور جدید علوم سے دوری تھی۔ سر سید احمد خان نے مسلمانوں کو دورِ جدید کے علوم سے روشناس کرنے کا بیڑا اُٹھایا اور علی گڑھ مسلم یونیورسٹی کا قیام عمل میں آیا۔ حضرت علامہ اقبال نے خطبہ ا لہ آباد کے ذریعے برصغیر کے مسلمانوں کو ایک علیحدہ وطن کا خواب دکھایا جسے حضرت قائد اعظم محمد علی جناح نے اپنے تدبر اور عظیم جدوجہد سے عملی تعبیر دی۔ پاکستان آج ایک حقیقت ہے اور کامیابیوں کی ایک عظیم داستان کا حامل ہے۔ ہم نے گزشتہ 73برسوں میں ہر شعبے میں دنیا میں اپنا نام روشن کیا۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر نے بہاول پور لٹریری اینڈ کلچرل فیسٹول کے کامیاب انعقاد پر منتظمین میں شیلڈز تقسیم کیں۔
