The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Cements Its Global Standing as a Sustainable Leader, Securing 345th Place in UI Green Metric World University Rankings 2025
BAHAWALPUR : The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has once again demonstrated its global leadership in environmental stewardship, securing the 345th position in the esteemed UI Green Metric World University Rankings 2025. In the 15th edition of this prestigious ranking, which assessed the sustainability performance of 1,745 institutions across 105 countries, IUB has maintained a robust standing. Ranking 345th out of 1,547 qualified universities in the world and ranked 194 in Asia, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur continues to uphold its reputation as a "Green University" amidst intensifying global competition. Nationally, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur stands tall among 107 Pakistani universities and has secured 11th position in Pakistan and 3rd position in South Punjab, reaffirming its role as a regional hub for sustainable development and eco-friendly innovation. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran hailed the achievement as a reflection of the university’s strategic direction. He said that this recognition is a validation of our commitment to integrating sustainability into the very fabric of our institutional identity. At the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, we view environmental responsibility as a core component of modern education. We are dedicated to expanding these eco-friendly initiatives, ensuring that we leave a resilient and sustainable legacy for future generations. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asadullah Madni, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell said that this milestone was achieved through the synergistic efforts of the university’s administrative and academic leadership. بہاولپور (پ ر) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے ایک بار پھر ماحولیاتی ذمہ داری میں اپنی عالمی قیادت کا مظاہرہ کرتے ہوئے یو آئی گرین میٹرک ورلڈ یونیورسٹی رینکنگ 2025 میں 345 ویں پوزیشن حاصل کی۔ اس باوقار درجہ بندی کے 15 ویں ایڈیشن میں، جس نے 105 ممالک میں 1,745 اداروں کی پائیداری کی کارکردگی کا جائزہ لیا، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے ایک مضبوط موقف برقرار رکھا ہے۔ دنیا کی 1,547 قابل یونیورسٹیوں میں سے 345 ویں اور ایشیا میں 194 ویں نمبر پر ہے، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور عالمی مقابلے میں ایک "گرین یونیورسٹی" کے طور پر اپنی ساکھ کو برقرار رکھے ہوئے ہے۔ قومی سطح پر، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور 107 پاکستانی یونیورسٹیوں میں بہترین پوزیشن پر ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے پاکستان میں 11 ویں اور جنوبی پنجاب میں تیسری پوزیشن حاصل کی ہے، جو پائیدار ترقی اور ماحول دوست اختراع کے علاقائی مرکز کے طور پر اپنے کردار کی تصدیق کرتی ہے۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے اس کامیابی کو یونیورسٹی کی اسٹریٹجک سمت کی عکاسی قرار دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ پہچان ہماری ادارہ جاتی شناخت کے بنیادی ڈھانچے میں پائیداری کو ضم کرنے کے ہمارے عزم کی توثیق ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں، ہم ماحولیاتی ذمہ داری کو جدید تعلیم کے بنیادی جزو کے طور پر دیکھتے ہیں۔ ہم ان ماحول دوست اقدامات کو وسعت دینے کے لیے وقف ہیں، اس بات کو یقینی بناتے ہوئے کہ ہم مستقبل کی نسلوں کے لیے ایک لچکدار اور آرام دہ اور پرسکون زندگی گزاریں۔ ڈائریکٹر کوالٹی انہانسمنٹ سیل پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد اسد اللہ مدنی نے کہا کہ یہ سنگ میل یونیورسٹی کی انتظامی اور تعلیمی قیادت کی ہم آہنگی کی کوششوں سے حاصل کیا گیا۔ انہوں نے ڈینز، چیئرپرسنز اور پرنسپل آفیسرز کو ان کے تعاون پر دلی تعریف کی۔ انہوں نے ان اقدامات کو چلانے والی کور ٹیم کی تعریف کی، خاص طور پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی، سرپرست، SDGs کولابریشن سنٹر، ڈاکٹر عابد رشید گل، ڈائریکٹر، گرین کیمپس پروجیکٹ، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سلمان بن نعیم، ڈائریکٹر SDGs، ڈاکٹر مریم عباس سہروردی، ایڈیشنل ڈائریکٹر SDGs، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالعزیز، پراجیکٹ ڈائریکٹر، ڈاکٹر مریم عباس سہروردی۔ موسمیاتی تبدیلی، پائیداری اور تحفظ، ڈاکٹر محمد عبداللہ، ڈائریکٹر، چولستان انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیولپمنٹ اسٹڈیز اور آئی  یو بی بائیو ڈائیورسٹی پارک، ڈاکٹر عدنان رحمانی، ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر، سپیس منجمنٹ، انجینئر آصف شہزاد، ڈائریکٹر انجینئرنگ، اور ملک عامر منظور، پرنسپل آفیسر اسٹیٹ کیئر شامل ہیں۔ دنیا کی اعلیٰ ترین گرین یونیورسٹیوں میں مسلسل درجہ بندی کرتے ہوئے، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نئی نسل کے لیڈروں کو "گوئنگ گرین" کے فلسفے کو اپنانے کی ترغیب دے رہی ہے۔ یونیورسٹی اقوام متحدہ کے پائیدار ترقی کے اہداف (SDGs) کے لیے پرعزم ہے، جو صاف ستھرے، سرسبز مستقبل کی راہ ہموار کرتی ہے۔
