MoU Signed Between IUB and IRBG

Department of Livestock Management, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Institute of Reproductive Biotechnology and Genetics, Dunyapur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote commercialization, technology transfer and international linkages in goat genetic improvement research in Punjab.

Department of Livestock Management, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Institute of Reproductive Biotechnology and Genetics, Dunyapur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote commercialization, technology transfer and international linkages in goat genetic improvement research in Punjab. The MoU was prepared with the assistance of Director, ORIC, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and linkages with universities and research institutions in the field of livestock genetics and reproductive biotechnology, especially Chinese universities and research institutes. Under this agreement, breeding semen and embryos of quality Boer and Sanine goats will be available to farmers and breeders, while practical training on artificial insemination, embryo transfer, reproductive management and breed improvement will also be provided through a joint platform. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran and Dean, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mansoor reviewed the ongoing research projects of the Chairman of the Department of Livestock Management, Dr. Faisal Shahzad, including PARB Project No. 22-125 and NRPU Project No. 64, were appreciated for their efforts in converting them into practical livestock innovations. In particular, NRPU Project No. 17105 was also specially appreciated for its successful conversion into a commercialization and income generating platform in the field of Livestock Management. The Vice Chancellor and Dean highly appreciated the outstanding services of Dr. Qaiser Shahzad, CEO, Institute of Reproductive Biotechnology and Genetics, in the field of Livestock Genetic Improvement and Reproductive Biotechnology, including million dollar level exports of Livestock Genetics to China. He termed it as a remarkable example of Pakistani productivity and international success. He also appreciated Dr. Qaiser Shahzad’s special interest in choosing IUB as a partner for this historic commercialization initiative, which is an expression of confidence in the research capacity of IUB and the practical and commercial potential of Livestock Genetics. The Vice Chancellor welcomed Mian Samiullah, General Secretary, Buffalo Breeders Association Punjab Pakistan and Rana Babar, CEO, Cattle Plus Ranch and appreciated their keen interest in collaborating with the university. On this occasion, he also presented the Gold Buffalo Badge to the Vice Chancellor as a token of gratitude and to further strengthen the university-industry collaboration. The Vice Chancellor also welcomed the renowned breeders of Makhi Chinese goats while certificates were distributed among the prominent breeders in recognition of their services in improving the breed. The five-year agreement will play a significant role in strengthening research collaboration, genetic improvement, reproductive biotechnology, training of farmers and breeders, technology transfer, commercialization and livestock entrepreneurship, which will help in the sustainable development of the goat farming sector in Punjab and Pakistan.پی آر او نمبر 333/26 مؤرخہ 31.08.2026

شعبہ لائیو اسٹاک مینجمنٹ فیکلٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ری پروڈکٹو بایوٹیکنالوجی اینڈ جینیٹکس دنیاپور نے پنجاب میں بکریوں کی جینیاتی بہتری تحقیق کی کمرشلائزیشن ٹیکنالوجی ٹرانسفر اور بین الاقوامی روابط کو فروغ دینے کے لیے باہمی تعاون کے معاہدے پر دستخط کیے۔ یہ معاہدہ ڈائریکٹراورک پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد عاطف کے تعاون سے تیار کیا گیا جس کا مقصد لائیو اسٹاک جینیٹکس اور ری پروڈکٹو بایوٹیکنالوجی بالخصوص چینی جامعات اور تحقیقی اداروں سے تعاون اور روابط کو مضبوط بنانا ہے۔اس معاہدے کے تحت معیاری بوئیر اور سانین بکریوں کے افزائشی سیمن اور ایمبریوز کسانوں اور بریڈرز کے لیے دستیاب ہوں گے جبکہ مصنوعی نسل کشی ایمبریو ٹرانسفر تولیدی انتظام اور نسل کی بہتری کے حوالے سے عملی تربیت بھی مشترکہ پلیٹ فارم کے ذریعے فراہم کی جائے گی۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران اور ڈین فیکلٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد خالد منصور نے شعبہ لائیو اسٹاک مینجمنٹ کے چیئرمین ڈاکٹر فیصل شہزاد کے جاری تحقیقی منصوبوں جن میں PARB Project No. 22-125 اور NRPU Project No. 64 شامل ہیں، کو عملی لائیو اسٹاک اختراعات میں تبدیل کرنے کی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔ بالخصوص NRPU Project No. 17105 کو شعبہ لائیو اسٹاک مینجمنٹ میں کمرشلائزیشن اور آمدن پیدا کرنے والے پلیٹ فارم  میں کامیابی سے تبدیل کرنے کو بھی خصوصی طور پر سراہا گیا۔ وائس چانسلر اور ڈین نےڈاکٹر قیصر شہزادسی ای او انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ری پروڈکٹو بایوٹیکنالوجی اینڈ جینیٹکس کی لائیو اسٹاک جینیٹک امپروومنٹ اور ری پروڈکٹیو بایوٹیکنالوجی کے شعبے میں نمایاں خدمات کو بھرپور سراہا جن میں چین کو لائیو اسٹاک جینیٹکس کی ملین ڈالرز کی سطح کی برآمدات بھی شامل ہیں۔ اسے پاکستانی پیداواری صلاحیت اور بین الاقوامی کامیابی کی ایک قابلِ ذکر مثال قرار دیا گیا۔ انہوں نے اس تاریخی کمرشلائزیشن اقدام کے لیے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کو شراکت دار منتخب کرنے میں ڈاکٹر قیصر شہزاد کی خصوصی دلچسپی کو بھی سراہا جو اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی تحقیقی صلاحیت اور لائیو اسٹاک جینیٹکس کی عملی اور تجارتی  استعداد پر اعتماد کا اظہار ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے میاں سمیع اللہ جنرل سیکرٹری بفیلو بریڈرز ایسوسی ایشن پنجاب پاکستان اور رانا بابر سی ای او کیٹل پلس رینچ  کا خیرمقدم کیا اور یونیورسٹی کے ساتھ تعاون میں ان کی گہری دلچسپی کو سراہا۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے اظہارِ تشکر اور یونیورسٹی انڈسٹری تعاون کو مزید مضبوط بنانے کے لیے وائس چانسلر کوگولڈ بفلو بیج بھی پیش کیا۔ وائس چانسلر نے معروف مکھی چینی بکریوں کے بریڈرز کا بھی خیرمقدم کیا جبکہ نسل کی بہتری میں ان کی خدمات کے اعتراف میں ممتاز بریڈرز میں سرٹیفکیٹس تقسیم کیے گئے۔ پانچ سالہ معاہدہ تحقیقی تعاون جینیاتی بہتری ری پروڈکٹو بایوٹیکنالوجی کسانوں اور بریڈرز کی تربیت ٹیکنالوجی ٹرانسفر کمرشلائزیشن اور لائیو اسٹاک انٹرپرینیورشپ کو مضبوط بنانے میں اہم کردار ادا کرے گا جس سے پنجاب اور پاکستان میں بکری فارمنگ کے شعبے کی پائیدار ترقی میں مدد ملے گی۔
