Prof. Dr. Ghulam Hasan Abbasi from IUB visited the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia

Bahawalpur() Prof. Dr. Ghulam Hasan Abbasi, Director, Institute of Agro Industry and Environment, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, visited the Center for Desert Agriculture, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia. King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Saudi Arabia has a prominent position in the field of science in the Middle East. Prof. Dr. Ghulam Hasan Abbasi met the world renowned scientist, Prof. Mark Tester, Head of Plant Science and Salt Research Laboratory on this occasion. On this occasion, he informed about the research work in Soil Salinity Research Laboratory in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Joint research projects on issues like soil salinity and cultivation of various vegetables were reviewed by both sides. Sem and Thor are a major challenge to soil fertility and crop production. In modern research in soil science, research in this field can benefit the farming community. Both universities can cooperate with each other in this regard.

بہاولپور () پروفیسر ڈاکٹر غلام حسن عباسی ڈائریکٹر، انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ایگرو انڈسٹری اینڈ انوائرمنٹ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے سینٹر فار ڈیزٹ ایگریکلچر کنگ عبداللہ یونیورسٹی آف سائنس اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی سعودی عرب کا دورہ کیا۔ کنگ عبداللہ یونیورسٹی آف سائنس اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی سعودی عرب مشرق وسطہ میں سائنس کے شعبے میں ممتاز مقام رکھتی ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر غلام حسن عباسی نے اس موقع پر دنیا کے نامور سائنسدان، پلانٹ سائنس اور سالٹ ریسرچ لیبارٹری کے سربراہ پروفیسر مارک ٹیسٹر سے ملاقات کی۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں سوائل سیلنیٹی ریسرچ لیبارٹری میں تحقیقی کام سے متعلق آگاہ کیا۔ دونوں جانب سے زمین میں نمکیات اور مختلف سبزیات کی کاشت کاری جیسے امور پر مشترکہ تحقیقی منصوبوں کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ سیم و تھور زمین کی زرخیزی اور فصلوں کی پیداوار کے لیے بہت بڑا چیلنج ہے۔ سوائل سائنس میں جدید تحقیق کی بدولت اس شعبے میں تحقیق سے کسان کمیونٹی کو فائدہ پہنچایا جا سکتا ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں دونو ں جامعات ایک دوسرے سے تعاون کر سکتی ہے۔
