BAHAWALPUR / CHENGDU: In a major effort to strengthen international academic and technological collaboration, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), recently visited China to participate in the 120th anniversary celebrations of Sichuan Agricultural University (SAU) and explore expanded bilateral research initiatives, an official visit that garnered prominent international press coverage across platforms such as China Economic Net (CEN), Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), and the Daily Independent through coordination by Dr. Malik Adnan, Chairman of IUB's Department of Media and Communication Studies. During the visit, IUB and SAU officially extended their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for another five years, solidifying their high-impact joint intercropping research led locally by IUB’s National Research Center of Intercropping (NRCI) under Director Dr. Muhammad Ali Raza which has successfully adapted Chinese strip intercropping technology across more than 12,000 hectares of Pakistani farmland to optimize yields, secured 56 fully funded scholarships for IUB students at SAU, and positioned IUB as the sole Pakistani institution on the Standing Council of the Food Security Education and Technology Innovation Alliance. Furthermore, in an exclusive CEN feature comparing China's clean-energy-driven "East Data, West Computing" AI model in Ulanqab to Bahawalpur's landscape, Prof. Dr. Kamran emphasized the necessity of pairing digital infrastructure with robust local research and human capital, detailing how IUB is actively building these native capabilities through its Artificial Intelligence Research and Advancement Lab, interdisciplinary AI integration, and a specialized Quantum Computing program launched in 2026.

بین الاقوامی تعلیمی اور تکنیکی تعاون کو مضبوط بنانے کی ایک بڑی کوشش کے طور پر، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے حال ہی میں چین کا دورہ کیا۔ اس دورے کا مقصد سیچوان ایگریکلچرل یونیورسٹی کی 120 ویں سالگرہ کی تقریبات میں شرکت کرنا اور دو طرفہ تحقیقی اقدامات کو وسعت دینے کے امکانات کا جائزہ لینا تھا۔ اس سرکاری دورے کو بین الاقوامی میڈیا میں نمایاں کوریج ملی جس میں چائنا اکنامک نیٹ ایسوسی ایٹڈ پریس آف پاکستان اور ڈیلی انڈیپینڈنٹ جیسے پلیٹ فارمز شامل ہیں۔ دورے کے دوران اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور سیچوان ایگریکلچر یونیورسٹی نے اپنی مفاہمت کی یادداشت میں مزید پانچ سال کی توسیع کی۔ اس معاہدے سے ان کے مشترکہ انٹر کراپنگ تحقیقی منصوبے کو مزید تقویت ملی ہےجس کی مقامی سطح پر نگرانی اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے نیشنل ریسرچ سینٹر آف انٹر کراپنگ کے ڈائریکٹر ڈاکٹر محمد علی رضا کر رہے ہیں۔ اس منصوبے کے تحت چینی اسٹرپ انٹر کراپنگ ٹیکنالوجی کو پاکستان میں 12,000 ہیکٹر سے زائد زرعی اراضی پر کامیابی سے لاگو کیا گیا ہے تاکہ فصلوں کی پیداوار کو بہتر بنایا جا سکے۔ اس تعاون کے نتیجے میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے طلباءوطالبات کے لیے سیچوان ایگریکلچر یونیورسٹی میں 56 مکمل فنڈڈ اسکالرشپس حاصل ہوئی ہیں اور اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور فوڈ سیکیورٹی ایجوکیشن اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی انوویشن الائنس کی اسٹینڈنگ کونسل میں شامل ہونے والا واحد پاکستانی ادارہ بن گیا ہے۔ مزید برآں چائنا اکنامک نیٹ (CEN) کی ایک خصوصی رپورٹ میں چین کے ایسٹ ڈیٹا ویسٹ کمپیوٹنگ ( اے آئی ماڈل جو کلین انرجی پر مبنی ہےکا موازنہ بہاولپور کے خطے سے کیا گیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر کامران نے ڈیجیٹل انفراسٹرکچر کو مقامی تحقیق اور انسانی وسائل کے ساتھ جوڑنے کی اہمیت پر زور دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ آرٹیفیشل انٹیلی جنس ریسرچ اینڈ ایڈوانسمنٹ لیب مختلف شعبوں میں اے آئی کے انضمام اور 2026 میں شروع کیے گئے کوانٹم کمپیوٹنگ کے خصوصی پروگرام کے ذریعے ان مقامی صلاحیتوں کو فعال طور پر فروغ دے رہا ہے۔
