Students from the Department of Botany visited IUB Biodiversity Park to study desert flora and took part in plantation

Department of Botany, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nargis Naz, Chairperson, Department of Botany/Additional Director, Biodiversity Park, organized a one-day study tour to IUB Biodiversity Park for first semester MS and PhD students. The students visited the park to study desert flora and participated in activities like collecting plants and seeds, planting indigenous plants in the park, filling polythene bags, sowing seeds and cutting plants in IUB Biodiversity Park. Later, the students distributed indigenous plants to the local community of Derawar to spread awareness about plantation drive and its conservation. Director, IUB Biodiversity Park, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah and faculty members of Botany, Dr. Musarat, Dr. Tauseef, Dr. Ghulam Sarwar and Dr. Muhammad Akram were also present on the study tour.

بہاولپور (پ ر) ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف باٹنی اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نرگس ناز چیئرپرسن شعبہ باٹنی/ایڈیشنل ڈائریکٹر بائیو ڈائیورسٹی پارک کی نگرانی میں ایم ایس اور پی ایچ ڈی کے پہلے سمسٹرز کے طلبا و طالبات کے لیے آئی یو بی بائیو ڈائیورسٹی پارک میں ایک روزہ مطالعاتی دورے کا اہتمام کیا۔ طلبا و طالبات نے صحرا کی نباتات کا مطالعہ کرنے کے لیے پارک کا فیلڈ وزٹ کیا اور پلانٹ اور سیڈ اکٹھا کرنے، پارک میں مقامی پودوں کی شجرکاری، پولی تھین بیگز بھرنا، آئی یو بی بائیو ڈائیورسٹی پارک میں بیج کی بوائی اور پودوں کی کٹنگ جیسی سرگرمیوں میں حصہ لیا۔ بعد ازاں طلباء نے ڈیراوڑ کی مقامی کمیونٹی میں مقامی پودوں کو تقسیم کرکے پلانٹیشن ڈرائیو اور اس کے تحفظ کے بارے میں آگاہی پھیلائی۔ ڈائریکٹر آئی یو بی بائیو ڈائیورسٹی پارک ڈاکٹر محمد عبداللہ اور باٹنی کے فیکلٹی ممبران ڈاکٹر مسرت، ڈاکٹر توصیف، ڈاکٹر غلام سرور اور ڈاکٹر محمد اکرم بھی اس مطالعاتی دورے میں موجود تھے۔
