Bahawalpur (PR) The first multi-disciplinary conference on SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals) Research, Policy and Action 2025 organized by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Government Sadiq College Women’s University Bahawalpur and Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Bahawalpur has concluded. In his video message on this occasion, Chief Patron Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, congratulated the three universities on the successful holding of the first joint international conference on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He emphasized the active role of universities in the implementation and execution of SDGs and the benefit of the local community. The closing session was held at the auditorium of Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Bahawalpur. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Vice Chancellor, Government Sadiq College Women’s University Bahawalpur, Professor Dr. Shazia Anjum and Vice Chancellor, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Bahawalpur, Professor Dr. Mazhar Ayaz, Professor Dr. Jawad Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences and Commerce, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, former Parliamentary Secretary Jahanzaib Warren, foreign delegates, experts from academia and industry were present. The conference was attended by delegates from various universities in Pakistan as well as from Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia. The conference discussed the role of universities and academia in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The main topics of the conference included social development and justice, poverty and inequality eradication, sustainable development of agriculture and livestock, health, education, gender equality and women’s well-being, and basic human needs such as clean water, green energy and climate change. Suggestions related to youth development, governance and leadership, technology and institutional stability were also considered on the occasion. The focal person of the conference, Dr. Maryam Abbas Sohrawardy, and the secretary, Prof. Dr. Salman bin Naeem, thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, and other Vice Chancellors and academia for their special guidance and cooperation in organizing the conference.

بہاولپور (پ ر) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز بہاولپور کے زیر اہتمام پہلی ملٹی ڈسپلنری کانفرنس برائے ایس ڈی جیز (اقوام متحدہ کے پائیدار ترقی کے اہداف) ریسرچ، پالیسی اور ایکشن 2025 اختتام پذیر ہوگئی۔ اختتامی سیشن چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز بہاولپور کے آڈیٹوریم میں منعقد ہوا۔ اس موقع پر اپنے ویڈیو پیغام میں چیف پیٹرن وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے اقوام متحدہ کے پائیدار ترقی کے اہداف پر تینوں جامعات کی پہلی مشترکہ بین الاقوامی کانفرنس کامیاب انعقاد پر مبارکباد دی۔ انہوں نے ایس ڈی جیز کے نفاذ اور عملدرآمد میں جامعات کے فعال کردار اور مقامی کمیونٹی کے مستفید ہونے پر زور دیا ۔ اختتامی سیشن میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ، وائس چانسلر گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ،پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شازیہ انجم ، وائس چانسلر چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز بہاول پور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مظہر ایاز، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر جواد اقبال ڈین فیکلٹی آف مینجمنٹ سائنسز اینڈ کامرس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ، سابق پارلیمانی سیکریٹری جہانزیب وارن ، غیر ملکی مندوبین ، اکیڈیما اور انڈسٹری سے ماہرین موجود تھے۔ اس کانفرنس میں پاکستان کی مختلف جامعات کے علاوہ ترکیہ، ملائیشیاء اور انڈونیشیاء سے بھی مندوبین شریک ہوئے۔ کانفرنس میں اقوام متحدہ کے دیرپا اورپائیدار ترقی کے اہداف کے حصول کے لیے جامعات اور اکیڈیما کے کردار پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔کانفرنس کے اہم موضوعات میں سماجی ترقی اور انصاف کی فراہمی، غربت اور عدم مساوات کا خاتمہ ، زراعت اور لائیو سٹاک کی پائیدار ترقی، صحت تعلیم، صنفی مساوات اور خواتین کی بہبوداور انسانی بنیادی ضروریات جیسے صاف پانی، گرین انرجی اور ماحولیاتی تبدیلی جیسے موضوعات زیر بحث آئے۔ اس موقع پر نوجوانوں کی ترقی ، گورننس اور لیڈر شپ ، ٹیکنالوجی اور ادارہ جاتی استحکام سے متعلق بھی تجاویز زیر غور آئیں۔ کانفرنس کی فوکل پرسن ڈاکٹر مریم عباس سہروردی اور سیکریٹری پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سلمان بن نعیم نے کانفرنس کے انعقادمیں خصوصی رہنمائی اور تعاون پر وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران اور دیگر وائس چانسلرز اور اکیڈیما کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔
