New Cabinet Elected – Pakistan Embassy in Germany Extends Full Support

BONN, GERMANY:

The German-Pakistan Forum successfully held its annual general meeting (AGM) online. The meeting was attended by members from across Germany and included a detailed review of the Forum’s work and direction for the coming year.The forum also conducted fresh elections during the meeting. The members elected the new cabinet of the Forum with an overwhelming consensus.According to the election results, Sorya Lippert was elected President, Imran Mehr was elected as Vice President, whereas Zahra Currimbhoy and Martina Khan were elected as Treasurer and Note Keeper, respectively. Mariam Ahmed to be nominated as Auditor in the upcoming board meeting.Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany, Saqlain Syedah along with the Press Counselor, Hina Malik, joined the proceedings addressed the members. In her address, the Ambassador reaffirmed the Embassy’s continued support for the Forum and assured the members that the Embassy will remain fully available for cooperation in all areas where support is required. She emphasized the importance of moving forward together and strengthening community driven initiatives, stating that the partnership between the Embassy and the Forum will grow “strength by strength.”The newly elected President, Ms. Sorya Lippert, thanked members for their trust and expressed her commitment to expanding the Forum’s activities, engaging younger members, and strengthening the Forum’s role in cultural relations, humanitarian work, climate cooperation, and public dialogue.The Forum presented its annual activity summaries for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025, demonstrating the continuity of its mission and the value of its longstanding network. It was also shared that the German Pakistan Forum has received a number of new membership applications. In accordance with the Forum’s statutes, these applications will be reviewed and vetted in the next Board meeting.
The Forum outlined its plans for 2026 and called upon members to contribute new ideas and initiatives. The objective is to encourage collaboration by forming dedicated working/action groups around shared topics and to support the organization of upcoming activities.Among the first priorities is a cultural fashion event, for which the Pakistan Embassy will take a leading organizing role. The acting President and other members of the board could give a impressive account of a number of activities for the forum. Faraz Dahar and Sorya Lippert formed contacts to the Consulate General and the Mayor of Karachi. They also initiated student exchange programs. A particularly inspiring proposal was presented by Vice President Imran Mehr, suggesting a creative film competition titled: “Germany Through My Lens”. This initiative was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Saqlain Syedah, who expressed her full support and confirmed that Pakistani students studying film and media will be encouraged to participate. The Embassy will assist in connecting with relevant student associations and will host and engage participants through its platform, including inviting selected students to the Embassy.The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to building bridges between the people of Germany and Pakistan through cultural relations, student and academic engagement, and community-driven cooperation. With the support of the Embassy and a newly elected cabinet, the Forum looks forward to a more active, stronger, and impactful year ahead.During the meeting, members paid tribute to the late Prof. Dr. Michael Jansen, former President of the Forum and a sincere friend of Pakistan. His efforts and dedication to strengthening ties between Germany and Pakistan will always be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.

جرمن پاکستان فورم کا سالانہ جنرل اجلاس آن لائن منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس میں جرمنی بھر سے اراکین نے شرکت کی اور فورم کی سرگرمیوں، کارکردگی اور مستقبل کے منصوبوں پر تفصیلی گفتگو کی گئی۔ اجلاس کے دوران فورم کے نئے انتخابات بھی منعقد کیے گئے، جن کے نتیجے میں اراکین نے اتفاقِ رائے سے نئی کابینہ کا انتخاب کیا۔ انتخابی نتائج کے مطابق سوریہ لپرٹ کو صدر، عمران مہر کو نائب صدر منتخب کیا گیا، جبکہ زہرہ کرم بھوئے کو خزانچی اور مارٹینا خان کو نوٹ کیپر منتخب کیا گیا۔ مریم احمد کو آئندہ بورڈ اجلاس میں آڈیٹر نامزد کیا جائے گا۔
جرمنی میں پاکستان کی سفیر سقلین سیداہ اور پریس کاؤنسلر حنا ملک نے بھی اجلاس میں شرکت کی اور اراکین سے خطاب کیا۔ اپنے خطاب میں سفیرِ پاکستان نے جرمن پاکستان فورم کے ساتھ سفارت خانے کی مسلسل معاونت کا اعادہ کیا اور یقین دلایا کہ جن معاملات میں بھی فورم کو تعاون درکار ہوگا، سفارت خانہ مکمل دستیاب رہے گا۔ انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ باہمی تعاون کے ذریعے آگے بڑھنا وقت کی ضرورت ہے اور کہا کہ سفارت خانے اور فورم کی شراکت داری ”طاقت سے طاقت“ کی بنیاد پر مزید مضبوط ہوگی۔نومنتخب صدر محترمہ سوریہ لپرٹ نے فورم کے اراکین کا اعتماد دینے پر شکریہ ادا کیا اور اس عزم کا اظہار کیا کہ فورم کی سرگرمیوں کو مزید وسعت دی جائے گی، نوجوان اراکین کو فعال کردار دیا جائے گا، اور ثقافتی تعلقات، انسانی فلاحی سرگرمیوں، ماحولیاتی تعاون اور عوامی مکالمے کے شعبوں میں فورم کے کردار کو مزید مضبوط بنایا جائے گا۔اجلاس میں فورم کی 2023،2024 اور 2025 کی سالانہ سرگرمیوں کی رپورٹس بھی پیش کی گئیں جن سے فورم کے مشن کے تسلسل اور اس کے مضبوط نیٹ ورک کی اہمیت واضح ہوتی ہے۔ اس موقع پر یہ بھی بتایا گیا کہ فورم کو نئی رکنیت کے لیے متعدد درخواستیں موصول ہوئی ہیں، جن کا فورم کے آئین کے مطابق آئندہ بورڈ اجلاس میں جائزہ لیا جائے گا۔فورم نے 2026 کے لیے اپنے منصوبوں کا بھی خاکہ پیش کیا اور اراکین کو نئی تجاویز اور اقدامات پیش کرنے کی دعوت دی۔ اس کا مقصد مشترکہ موضوعات پر مخصوص ورکنگ یا ایکشن گروپس تشکیل دے کر آئندہ سرگرمیوں کو منظم اور مؤثر بنانا ہے۔ابتدائی ترجیحات میں ایک ثقافتی فیشن ایونٹ بھی شامل ہے، جس کی قیادت اور انتظامی ذمہ داری سفارت خانہ پاکستان سنبھالے گا۔ اجلاس میں قائم مقام صدر اور بورڈ کے دیگر اراکین نے فورم کی متعدد سرگرمیوں پر تفصیلی اور مؤثر رپورٹ پیش کی۔ فراز ڈاہر اور سوریہ لپرٹ نے قونصلیٹ جنرل اور کراچی کے میئر سے روابط قائم کیے، جبکہ پاکستانی طلبا کے تبادلہ پروگراموں کے آغاز میں بھی کردار ادا کیا۔اس موقع پر نائب صدر عمران مہر کی جانب سے ایک نہایت متاثر کن تجویز پیش کی گئی، جس میں “Germany Through My Lens” کے عنوان سے مختصر فلم کلپس کے مقابلے کا تصور پیش کیا گیا۔ اس تجویز کو سفیرِ پاکستان محترمہ سقلین سیدہ نے بھرپور انداز میں سراہا اور اس کی مکمل حمایت کا اعلان کیا۔ انہوں نے تصدیق کی کہ فلم اور میڈیا کے شعبے سے وابستہ پاکستانی طلبہ کو اس مقابلے میں شرکت کے لیے حوصلہ افزائی کی جائے گی۔ سفارت خانہ متعلقہ طلبہ سے روابط قائم کرنے میں معاونت کرے گا اور منتخب شرکاء کو سفارت خانے میں مدعو کرنے سمیت پلیٹ فارم فراہم کرے گا۔فورم نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ وہ جرمنی اور پاکستان کے عوام کے درمیان ثقافتی روابط، تعلیمی و طلبہ تبادلے، اور کمیونٹی سطح کے تعاون کے ذریعے پل کا کردار ادا کرتا رہے گا۔ سفارت خانہ پاکستان کی سرپرستی اور نئی منتخب کابینہ کے ساتھ فورم ایک زیادہ فعال، مضبوط اور مؤثر سال کی جانب گامزن ہے۔اجلاس کے دوران فورم کے سابق صدر اور پاکستان کے مخلص دوست مرحوم پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مائیکل جانسن کو بھی خراجِ عقیدت پیش کیا گیا۔ ان کی خدمات اور جرمنی و پاکستان کے تعلقات کو مضبوط بنانے کے لیے ان کی کوششوں کو نہایت احترام اور تشکر کے ساتھ یاد کیا گیا۔
