The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, through the Special Persons Welfare Society and the Department of Special Education, successfully conducted a seminar titled "White Cane and Independent Mobility." The event was attended by distinguished guest Rana Zahid Iqbal, Senior Vice President of PML-N South Africa, Fauzia Ayub Qureshi, former Member of the Provincial Assembly and saw significant participation from key officials including Registrar Mohammad Shaji ur Rehman, Dr Asif Nadeem Chairman Special Education Department, program's Focal Person, Dr Imran Latif Saifi the Headmaster of the University Model School, Muhammad Zain Incharge Accessibility Center and faculty from the Department of Special Education. The seminar focused on the vital role of white canes in empowering visually impaired individuals, fostering independent mobility, and promoting inclusivity, with speakers highlighting the university's ongoing commitment to supporting special persons and integrating them fully into society.
