The Omar Khayyam Scholarship announcement for IUB social work students

Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran appreciated the announcement of providing scholarships to six female students of the Department of Social Work under the “Omar Khayyam Scholarship” for the first semester fees. This welfare initiative was made possible by the efforts of Muhammad Mahmood Ahmed (Examination Branch, Islamia University of Bahawalpur), an alumnus of the Department of Social Work. On this occasion, a cheque for the scholarship amount was presented to the Vice Chancellor, which he handed over to the Chairman of the Department of Social Work, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha. Omar Khayyam also expressed his determination that the number of scholarships and financial assistance would be further increased in the future so that more and more deserving female students could benefit. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran appreciated the commendable efforts of Omar Khayyam, Professor Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha and Muhammad Mahmood Ahmed and said that such initiatives not only help in the promotion of higher education for female students but are also an excellent example of the strong relationship between the university and its alumni.

وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے یونیورسٹی کے سابق طالب علم عمر خیام (اسپین) کی جانب سے شعبہ سوشل ورک کی طالبات کے لیے عمر خیام اسکالرشپ کے تحت پہلے سمسٹر کی فیس کی مد میں چھ طالبات کو اسکالرشپ فراہم کرنے کے اعلان کو سراہا۔ یہ فلاحی اقدام شعبہ سوشل ورک کے سابق طالب علم محمد محمود احمد (ایگزامینیشن برانچ، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور) کی کاوشوں سے ممکن ہوا۔ اس موقع پر اسکالرشپ کی رقم کا چیک وائس چانسلر کو پیش کیا گیا، جسے انہوں نے شعبہ سوشل ورک کے چیئرمین پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا کے حوالے کیا۔ عمر خیام نے اس عزم کا بھی اظہار کیا کہ آئندہ اسکالرشپس کی تعداد اور مالی معاونت میں مزید اضافہ کیا جائے گا تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ مستحق طالبات مستفید ہو سکیں۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے عمر خیام، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا اور محمد محمود احمد کی اس قابلِ تحسین کاوش کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ ایسے اقدامات نہ صرف طالبات کی اعلیٰ تعلیم کے فروغ میں معاون ثابت ہوتے ہیں بلکہ یونیورسٹی اور اس کے سابق طلبہ کے مضبوط تعلقات کی بھی بہترین مثال ہیں۔
