The second International Conference on Climate, Water, and the Environment, NEXUS, has begun.

The second three-day international conference on the topic of Climate, Water and Environment NEXUS, Navigating Scarcity and Sustainability organized by the Institute of Agro-Industry, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, has begun. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor, Islamia University of Bahawalpur, said in his presidential address that the conference is of global, national and regional importance in terms of the topic. The main objective of the conference is to provide a platform to national and international experts and researchers so that they can formulate proposals for the protection of mankind in the context of changing conditions in the context of climate change. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is one of the major universities of national and global level where students are prepared to face the challenges facing the world. Pakistan is facing challenges like floods and smog in the context of environmental change. The United Nations has included Pakistan among the countries affected by climate change. As a university, Jamia Islamia is aware of its responsibilities in this regard. In this regard, a BS Artificial Intelligence and Climate Change program has been started. This degree program will help in dealing with climate change. Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environment Professor Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi said that our scientists are working hard for research and innovation in climate change, green energy and green agriculture. In this regard, climate-adapted seeds of cotton, wheat, rice and various fruits and vegetables have been discovered. Professor Dr. Ghulam Hassan Abbasi, conference focal person, said that this is the second conference organized by the Institute of Agro-Industry. 9 Vice-Chancellors and more than 100 delegates are participating in this conference that will be aware of the global changes and also present scientific solutions. On the first day, Professor Dr. Moazzam Jameel, former Dean of Agriculture, Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Professor Dr. Muhammad Anwar ul Haq, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Professor Dr. Shafqat Ali, Government College University, Faisalabad, Dr. Muhammad Zia-ur-Rehman, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and Professor Dr. Allah Wadhayo, Sindh Agricultural University, Sindh, delivered keynote speeches.

انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ایگرو انڈسٹری فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ اینوائرمنٹ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے زیر اہتمام موسمیاتی تبدیلی پانی اور ماحولیات کے تناظر میں کمیاب وسائل کے موثر استعمال اور پائیدار ترقی کے موضوع پر تین روزہ دوسری بین الاقوامی کانفرنس کا آغاز ہوگیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے اپنے صدارتی خطاب میں کہا کہ موضوع کے اعتبار سے یہ کانفرنس عالمی قومی اور علاقائی اہمیت کی حامل ہے۔ کانفرنس کا بنیادی مقصد قومی اور بین الاقوامی ماہرین اور محققین کو ایک پلیٹ فارم مہیا کرنا ہے تاکہ موسمیاتی تبدیلیوں کے پس منظر میں بدلتے حالات کے مطابق بنی نوع انسان کے تحفظ کے لیے تجاویز مرتب کر سکیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور قومی اور عالمی سطح کی بڑی جامعات میں سے ایک ہے جہاں طلباوطالبات کو دنیا کو درپیش چیلنجز سے مقابلہ کرنے کے لیے تیار کیا جاتا ہے۔ پاکستان کو ماحولیاتی تبدیلیوں کے تناظر میں سیلاب سموگ جیسے چیلنجز کا سامنا ہے۔ اقوام متحدہ نے پاکستان کو کلائمیٹ چینج سے متاثرہ ممالک میں شامل کر رکھا ہے۔ ایک یونیورسٹی کے طور پر جامعہ اسلامیہ اس سلسلے میں اپنی ذمہ داریوں سے آگاہ ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں بی ایس آرٹفیشل اینٹیلیجنس اینڈ کلائمیٹ چینج پروگرام شروع کیا گیا ہے۔ یہ ڈگری پروگرام موسمیاتی تبدیلیوں سے نمٹنے میں مدد دے گا۔ ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ اینوائرمنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین ترابی نے کہا کہ ہمارے سائنسدان ماحولیاتی تبدیلی  گرین انرجی اوع  گرین زراعت میں تحقیق اور جدت کے لیے کوشاں ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں کپاس گندم چاول اور مختلف پھلوں اور سبزیات کے موسمیاتی موافقت رکھنے والے بیج دریافت کیے گئے ہیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر غلام حسن عباسی کانفرنس فوکل پرسن نے کہا کہ انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ایگروانڈسٹری کے زیر اہتمام  یہ دوسری کانفرنس ہے۔ اس کانفرنس میں 9 وائس چانسلرز اور 100 سے زائد مندوبین شریک ہیں جو مامولیاتی تبدیلیوں سے آگاہ کے ساتھ ساتھ سائنسی حل بھی پیش کریں گے۔ پہلے روز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر معظم جمیل سابق ڈین ایگریکلچر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد انوار الحق یونیورسٹی آف ایگریکلچر فیصل آباد، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شفقت علی گورنمنٹ کالج یونیورسٹی فیصل آباد، ڈاکٹر محمد ضیاء الرحمان یونیورسٹی آف ایگریکلچر فیصل آباد، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اللہ ودھایو سندھ زرعی یونیورسٹی سندھ نے کلیدی خطبات دیئے۔
