To investigate traces of Harappan civilization, the IUB archaeological team visited Faisalabad.

Professor Dr. Rizwan Kokab, Chairman of the Department of History at Government College University, Faisalabad, in coordination with the Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad, invited a team comprising Waqar Mushtaq archaeologist and Dr. Moazzam Durrani anthropologist from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur along with Aimal Khan from the Taxila Museum, for a three-day archaeological assessment tour in the Faisalabad district to investigate traces of the Harappan Civilization. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur team has been conducting archaeological documentation in the Cholistan region for the past three years with the technical support of the MAHSA team. During the initial phase, a systematic assessment of eight mounds was carried out, where diagnostic pottery linked to the Harappan period was identified. These mounds were cross-referenced with Survey of India map sheets, satellite imagery, and the 1992 DOAM report, all of which confirmed their archaeological significance. Following the field survey, an interactive session was organized at the Department of History, Government College University, Faisalabad, with MPhil and PhD scholars. The session emphasized the importance of archaeology and history and explored the historical connection between the ancient region of Lyallpur, Faisalabad and the Harappan Civilization.

گورنمنٹ کالج یونیورسٹی فیصل آباد کے شعبہ تاریخ کے چیئرمین پروفیسر ڈاکٹر رضوان کوکب نے ڈپٹی کمشنر فیصل آباد کے تعاون سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے ماہر آثار قدیمہ وقار مشتاق اور ڈاکٹر معظم درانی ماہر بشریات پر مشتمل ایک ٹیم کو ایمل خان کے ساتھ ٹیکسلا کے میوزیم میں بطور آرکیالوجسٹ مدعو کیا۔ ماہرین کی ٹیم ضلع فیصل آباد ہڑپہ تہذیب کے آثار کی چھان بین کرے گا۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی ٹیم MAHSA ٹیم کے تکنیکی تعاون سے گزشتہ تین سالوں سے چولستان کے علاقے میں آثار قدیمہ کی دستاویزات کا کام کررہی ہے۔ ابتدائی مرحلے کے دوران، آٹھ ٹیلوں کا ایک منظم جائزہ لیا گیا، جہاں ہڑپہ دور سے منسلک تشخیصی مٹی کے برتنوں کی نشاندہی کی گئی۔ ان ٹیلوں کو سروے آف انڈیا میپ شیٹس، سیٹلائٹ امیجری اور 1992 کی DOAM رپورٹ کے ساتھ کر اس ریفرنس کیا گیا تھا، ان سبھی نے ان کی آثار قدیمہ کی اہمیت کی تصدیق کی۔ فیلڈ سروے کے بعد گورنمنٹ کالج یونیورسٹی فیصل آباد کے شعبہ تاریخ میں ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی سکالرز کے ساتھ ایک انٹرایکٹو سیشن کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ سیشن میں آثار قدیمہ اور تاریخ کی اہمیت پر زور دیا گیا اور لائل پور، فیصل آباد اور ہڑپہ تہذیب کے قدیم خطے کے درمیان تاریخی تعلق کو دریافت کیا گیا۔
