Using Solar Energy for Mobility: Punjab Chief Minister's Initiative at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Provincial Transport and Mass Transit Minister Bilal Akbar has said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a big university in the country. The enthusiasm of the students of this university for the provision of motorbikes scheme under the Youth Initiative of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is to be seen. He said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has a 2.5 MW solar power plant and the supply of electricity from it. The Provincial Minister expressed this while talking to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar in a webinar related to motorbikes scheme under Chief Minister Punjab Youth Initiative. Provincial Secretary Transport and Mass Transit Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi were also present on this occasion. The Vice Chancellor said on this occasion that 2.5 MW solar energy plant is functional in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The Provincial Minister said that this solar park can play an important role in the success of the motorcycle scheme of the Punjab Chief Minister. He said that, under the slogan 'Motorbikes are yours and electricity is ours', charging points powered by solar energy should be installed in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur where students can charge their electric bikes for free. The Provincial Minister asked the vice chancellor that the university should install these charging points as soon as possible. He will soon come to Bahawalpur and inaugurate this charging station. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor said that the Engineering Department of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur will soon start working on this project.

بہاول پور (پ) صوبائی وزیر ٹرانسپورٹ و ماس ٹرانزٹ بلال اکبر نے کہا ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ملک کی ایک بڑی جامعہ ہے۔ اس یونیورسٹی کے طلباء و طالبات کا وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف کے یوتھ انیشیئیٹو کے تحت موٹر بائیکس کی فراہمی سکیم کیلئے جوش و خروش دیدنی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں اڑھائی میگا واٹ کے شمسی توانائی کے پلانٹ کی موجودگی اور اس سے بجلی کی فراہمی باعث مسرت ہے۔ صوبائی وزیر نے اس بات کا اظہار وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب یوتھ انیشیئٹو کے تحت موٹر بائیکس سکیم سے متعلق ویبینار میں وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ اس موقع پر صوبائی سیکرٹری ٹرانسپورٹ و ماس ٹرانزٹ ڈاکٹر احمد جاوید قاضی بھی موجود تھے۔ وائس چانسلر نے اس موقع پر بتایا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں اڑھائی میگا واٹ کا شمسی توانائی پلانٹ فنکشنل ہے۔ صوبائی وزیر نے کہا کہ یہ سولر پارک وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب کی موٹر بائیکس سکیم کی کامیابی میں اہم کردار ادا کرسکتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ' موٹر بائیک تمہاری اور بجلی ہماری ' سلوگن کے تحت اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں شمسی توانائی سے چلنے والے چارجنگ پوائنٹس لگاے جائیں جہاں طلباء و طالبات اپنی الیکٹرک بائیکس کی مفت چارجنگ کرائیں۔ صوبائی وزیر نے وائس چانسلر سے کہا کہ یونیورسٹی یہ چارجنگ پوائنٹس جلد از جلد نصب کرے۔ وہ جلد ہی بہاولپور آکر اس چارجنگ اسٹیشن کا افتتاح کریں گے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا شعبہ انجینئرنگ جلد ہی اس پراجیکٹ پر کام شروع کردے گا۔
