Vice Chancellor IUB visited the Japanese Consulate in Karachi

Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob visited the Japanese Consulate in Karachi today and called on Council General Mr. Toshikazu Isomura. Muhammad Owais from Pakistan Japan Literary Forum and eminent journalist and writer Khurram Sohail were also present in the meeting. On this occasion, measures for promotion of Urdu and Japanese language and literature, promotion of cultural relations and exchange of delegations at the level of teachers and students were discussed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and higher education institutions of Japan. Memorandum of Understanding was discussed regarding establishment of Center for Japanese Language and Culture at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Memorandum of Understanding for mutual cooperation and collaboration with Japanese organizations Association for International Corporation in Agriculture Forestry Japan Society for Promotion of Science and Japan International Corporation Agency. Possibilities such as joint research projects and faculty exchanges with Japanese universities were reviewed on the occasion. These include the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Tohoku University, Keio University, Kyushu University, Hokkaido University, Nagoya University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and the University of Hiroshima. The Vice Chancellor invited the Honorable Japanese Consul General to visit the University. He said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a century old academic center where thousands of teachers, students are engaged in teaching and research activities in many other sciences including art, social sciences, sciences, engineering, medical and agriculture. Apart from the exhibition of Japanese art at the Hakra Art Gallery located at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the Japanese Film Festival at the University Auditorium, information regarding the translation of Japanese literature into Urdu through the translation department of the university was also discussed. The Vice Chancellor also briefed on the latest research related to agriculture especially cotton and intercropping technology. The Japanese Consul General declared the Islamia University of Bahawalpur as an important university of the region and agreed to increase cooperation with various Japanese institutions.

وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے آج کراچی میں جاپانی کونسل خانے کا دورہ کیا اور کونسل جنرل جناب توشی کازو ایسومورا سے ملاقات کی۔ ملاقات میں پاکستان جاپان لٹریری فورم کے محمد اویس اور نامور صحافی و ادیب خرم سہیل بھی موجود تھے۔ اس موقع پر پر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور جاپان کے اعلیٰ تعلیم کے اداروں کے مابین اردو اور جاپانی زبان و ادب کے فروغ کے لیے اقدامات، ثقافتی رشتوں کے فروغ اور اساتذہ و طلباء کی سطح پر وفود کے تبادلوں پر گفتگو ہوئی۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں جاپانی زبان اور ثقافت کے مرکز کے قیام اور جاپان کے اداروں  ایسوسی ایشن  فار انٹرنیشنل کارپوریشن ان ایگریکلچر فارسٹری جاپان سوسائٹی فار پروموشن آف سائنس اور جاپان انٹرنیشنل کارپوریشن ایجنسی سے باہمی تعاون اور اشتراک کے لیے مفاہمتی یاداشتوں سے متعلق گفتگو ہوئی۔ اس موقع پر جاپانی جامعات سے مشترکہ تحقیقی منصوبوں اور فیکلٹی ایکسچینج جیسے امکانات کا جائزہ لیاگیا۔ ان میں یونیورسٹی آف ٹوکیو، کیوٹو یونیورسٹی، اوساکا یونیورسٹی، ٹوہو کو یونیورسٹی، کیو ؤیونیورسٹی،کائشوو یونیورسٹی، ہوکائیڈو یونیورسٹی، ناگویا یونیورسٹی، ٹوکیو انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ٹیکنالوجی اور ہیروشیما یونیورسٹی شامل ہیں۔ وائس چانسلر نے عزت ماب جاپانی کونسل جنرل کویونیورسٹی کا دورہ کرنے کی دعوت دی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور ایک صدی پرانی علمی مرکز ہے  جہاں پر ہزاروں اساتذہ، طلباء وطالبات آرٹ، سماجی علوم، سائنسز، انجینئرنگ، میڈیکل اور زراعت سمیت دیگر بہت سے علوم میں تدریسی و تحقیقی سرگرمیوں میں مصروف عمل ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں واقع ہاکٹرہ آرٹ گیلری میں جاپانی آرٹ کی نمائش ا ور یونیورسٹی آڈیٹوریم میں جاپانی فلم فیسٹیول کے علاوہ یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ ترجمہ کے ذریعے جاپانی ادب کے اردو میں ترجمے سے متعلق بھی معلومات زیر غور آئیں۔ وائس چانسلر نے زراعت خصوصا کپاس اور انٹر کراپنگ ٹیکنالوجی سے متعلق ہونے والی جدید ترین تحقیق سے متعلق بھی آگاہ کیا۔ جاپانی کونسل جنرل نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کو خطے کی ایک اہم یونیورسٹی قرار دیتے ہوئے جاپان کے مختلف اداروں سے تعاون بڑھانے پر اتفاق کیا۔
