Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran inaugurated a water purification plant in Basti Shahbazpur, Bahawalpur.

The Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Professor Dr Muhammad Kamran, today inaugurated a water purification plant in Moza Kilanchwala, Basti Shahbazpur, a suburban locality on the outskirts of Bahawalpur city, home to hundreds of residents who had long been deprived of clean drinking water and were consequently suffering from waterborne diseases, including kidney ailments. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the cooperation extended by Al Mustafa Welfare Trust in the installation of the plant, undertaken in collaboration with the Department of Social Work and the Directorate of Student Affairs, Islamia University of Bahawalpur, and remarked that community development is an integral responsibility of the university, which it continues to fulfill through partnership with like-minded organizations. The event was also attended by representatives of Al Mustafa Welfare Trust Nusrat Saleem MD and Muhammad Arham Saleem Manager South Region Professor Dr Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman of the Department of Social Work and Director of Student Affairs,  Aijaz Fakih, President and Baqa l Mohsin Secretary of the IUB Alumni Association Network, Arham Qadri and  Dr Shahzad Ahmad Khalid, Director Public Relations . On the occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, its Department of Social Work, and Al Mustafa Welfare Trust to extend their existing cooperation on the provision of water and other facilities at the Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus, paving the way for further collaboration and enhanced facilities for students.

وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے آج بہاولپور شہر کے نواحی علاقے بستی شہبازپور موضع کلانچ والا میں واٹر پیوریفیکیشن پلانٹ کا افتتاح کیا۔ اس علاقے کے سینکڑوں مکین عرصہ دراز سے پینے کے صاف پانی سے محروم تھے اور نتیجتاً کئی طرح کی بیماریوں میں مبتلا تھے۔ اس موقع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے وائس چانسلر نے المصطفیٰ ویلفیئر ٹرسٹ کی جانب سے شعبہ سوشل ورک اور ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف سٹوڈنٹس افیئرز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے اشتراک سے پلانٹ کی تنصیب میں تعاون کو سراہا اور کہا کہ کمیونٹی ڈویلپمنٹ یونیورسٹی کی اہم ذمہ داری ہے جسے وہ معاون تنظیموں کے ساتھ مل کر پورا کرتی رہتی ہے۔ اس تقریب میں المصطفیٰ ویلفیئر ٹرسٹ کے نمائندگان نصرت سلیم ایم ڈی اور محمد ارحم سلیم منیجر ساؤتھ ریجن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا شعبہ سوشل ورک کے چیئرمین اور اسٹوڈنٹ افیئرز، ڈائریکٹر اعجاز فقیہ صدر بقاالمحسن سیکرٹری اور آئی یو بی ایلومینائی ایسوسی ایشن ڈائریکٹر تعلقات عامہ ڈاکٹر شہزاد احمد خالد نے بھی شرکت کی۔ اس موقع پر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے شعبہ سوشل ورک اور المصطفیٰ ویلفیئر ٹرسٹ کے درمیان بغدادالجدید کیمپس میں پانی اور دیگر سہولیات کی فراہمی کے حوالے سے موجودہ تعاون کو بڑھانے کے لیے مفاہمت کی ایک یادداشت پر بھی دستخط کیے گئے جس سے طلباء کے لیے مزید تعاون اور بہتر سہولیات کی راہ ہموار ہوگی۔
