Medals and degrees were awarded to 2347 graduates of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for the Session 2015-2019 today. The Convocation was presided over by Governor Punjab and Chancellor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar. On this occasion, Governor Punjab along with Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob conferred degrees on 60 PhD, 265 M.Phil, 108 Gold Medal, 104 Silver Medal and 2022 BS, B.Sc, MA and M.Sc graduates. On the occasion of his visit, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar attended a special briefing in the office of the Vice Chancellor where the Vice Chancellor briefed him about the development and research projects of the university. The Chancellor said that Cholistan's artificial rain settlement project should be started in the form of a pilot project. He also appreciated the research on cotton. On this occasion, he also planted a sapling in connection with the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign. The Governor Punjab inaugurated the new building of the University College of Art and Design built in the style of the historic Fort Drawer, the newly constructed teaching block consisting of classrooms and laboratories and renovation of the Jamia Masjid. He also paid a detailed visit to Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. In his presidential address at the convocation, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the government is taking many steps for the development and welfare of the youth. The government has made education, including in the field of higher education, one of its priorities. He said that the responsibility of our educational institutions is not only to provide education but also to create active citizens through character building of youth who can give leadership to the society. The current era is one of globalization based on economic competition. The path to development cannot be paved without promoting a knowledge-based economy. He asked the students to find new ways to solve various problems of the society and guide the country and the nation. He said that Bahawalpur is a city with great cultural heritage and intellectual heritage. The land of Bahawalpur is the land of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Farid who taught peace, brotherhood and coexistence. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is the crown jewel of the head which is adorning local students as well as students from Gilgit-Baltistan to Balochistan. He highly appreciated the rapid development of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, gaining world prominence in the rankings, extraordinary increase in the number of students and teachers and congratulated the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, faculty and administration. He said that the government has appointed Vice Chancellors on merit in universities. An example of this is Jamia Islamia which under the leadership of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob is making extraordinary progress in every field. Delivering a welcome address, Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that Islamia University Bahawalpur has become one of the 1000 best universities in the world and has become the 11th in Pakistan and the top university in South Punjab. The current administration has initiated reforms in the administrative, financial, teaching and research areas of the university. An IT based system was introduced to ensure merit in recruitment and admissions. The number of faculties has been increased from 7 to 15 to give maximum access to knowledge to the students. The university has received wide acceptance of admissions from all over Pakistan and in a short span of 20 months the number of students has increased from 13,000 to 53,000. At present 40% of the students of the university are benefiting from various scholarships. Under the Hepatitis Campaign, Jamia Islamia has become the first Hepatitis Free University in the country. Similarly, corona vaccination of teachers and students has been completed. More than 14 Selection Boards and 29 Selection Committees have provided jobs to 2218 teachers and non-teaching staff. The number of teachers has increased from 500 to 1200. The Prime Minister of Pakistan recently inaugurated the 2.5 MW Solar Park, National Cotton Breeding Center, Cricket Stadium and other projects. The joint intercropping project of Jamia Islamia and the University of China has been included in the CPEC project. The university is currently undergoing development projects worth Rs. 12 billion in which Rs. 4 billion has been allocated by the federal government for construction of new campuses and faculties. Development projects worth Rs. 4 billion are being expedited under public-private partnership. He said that all these achievements are due to the full support of the federal and provincial governments, the hard work of the teachers, students and the support of the local community. He thanked Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar for attending the convocation specially. Members of National and Provincial Assembly, Divisional and District Officers and dignitaries of the city participated in the convocation in large numbers.

آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے کانووکیشن برائے سیشن 2015تا 2019کے 2347 گریجویٹس میں میڈلز اور ڈگریاں تقسیم کی گئیں۔کانووکیشن کی صدارت گورنر پنجاب و چانسلر چوہدری محمد سرور نے کی۔ اس موقع پر گورنر پنجاب نے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کے ہمراہ 60پی ایچ ڈی، 265ایم فل، 108گولڈ میڈل،104سلور میڈل اور 2022بی ایس، بی ایس سی، ایم اے اور ایم ایس سی گریجویٹس کو ڈگریاں عطا کیں۔اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے دورے کے موقع پر گورنر پنجاب چوہدری محمد سرور نے وائس چانسلر کے دفتر میں خصوصی بریفنگ میں شرکت کی جہاں وائس چانسلر نے انہیں یونیورسٹی کے ترقیاتی اور تحقیقی منصوبوں سے متعلق آگاہ کیا۔ چانسلر نے کہاکہ چولستان کی مصنوعی بارش کے ذریعے آباد کاری کے منصوبے کوایک پائلٹ پراجیکٹ کی شکل میں شروع کیا جائے۔ انہوں نے کپاس سے متعلق تحقیقی کو بھی سراہا۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے کلین اینڈ گرین پاکستان مہم کے سلسلے میں ایک پودا بھی لگایا۔ گورنر پنجاب نے تاریخی قلعہ ڈراور کی طرز پر تعمیر ہونیوالی یونیورسٹی کالج آف آرٹ اینڈ ڈیزائن کی نئی عمارت،کلاس رومز اور لیبارٹریوں پر مشتمل نو تعمیر شدہ تدریسی بلاک اور جامع مسجد کی توسیع و آرائش کا افتتاح کیا۔گورنر نے وائس چانسلر کی طرف سے دی گئی بریفنگ کے علاوہ بغداد الجدید کیمپس کا تفصیلی دورہ بھی کیا۔کانووکیشن سے اپنے صدراتی خطاب میں گورنر پنجاب چوہدری محمد سرور نے کہا کہ حکومت نوجوانوں کی ترقی اور بھلائی کے لیے بہت سے اقدامات کر رہی ہے۔نوجوان ہمارا مستقبل ہیں اور ملک کی ترقی کا دارومدار انہی کی کارکردگی پر منحصر ہے۔ حکومت نے اعلیٰ تعلیم کے شعبے سمیت تعلیم کو اپنی  ترجیحات میں شامل کیا ہے۔جامعات میں جدید تحقیقی سہولیات کی فراہمی، نئی جامعات کا قیام، احساس سکالرشپ پروگرام اور دیگر وظائف کی مد میں اربوں روپے کی فراہمی اور کامیاب نوجوان سکیم جیسے کئی اقدامات انہی کوششوں کا حصہ ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمارے تعلیمی اداروں کی ذمہ داری صرف تعلیم کی فراہمی نہیں بلکہ نوجوانوں کی کردار سازی کے ذریعے فعال شہری پیدا کرنا ہے جو معاشرے کو لیڈر شپ دے سکیں۔ موجودہ دور معاشی مسابقت پر مبنی گلوبلائزیشن کا دور ہے۔ علم پر مبنی معیشت کو فروغ دیئے بغیر ترقی کا راستہ نہیں کھل سکتا۔ انہوں نے طلباء وطالبات سے کہا کہ معاشرے کے مختلف مسائل کا مشاہدہ کرتے ہوئے ان کے حل کے لیے نئی راہیں تلاش کریں اور ملک و ملت کی رہنمائی کریں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بہاولپور عظیم تہذیبی، تمدنی اور علمی میراث کا حامل شہر ہے۔ بہاولپور کی دھرتی حضرت خواجہ غلام فرید کی دھرتی ہے جنہوں نے امن، بھائی چارے اور بقائے باہمی کا درس دیا۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی،بہاولپور کے سر کا تاج ہے جو مقامی طلباء وطالبات کے ساتھ ساتھ گلگت بلتستان سے لے کر بلوچستان کے ساحلوں تک کے طلباء وطالبات کو زیور تعلیم سے آراستہ کر رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں ہونے والی روزافزوں ترقی، رینکنگ میں عالمی سطح تک نمایاں مقام حاصل کرنے، طلبااور اساتذہ کی تعداد میں غیر معمولی اضافے کو بے حد سراہتے ہوئے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب، فیکلٹی اور انتظامیہ کو مبارکباد دی۔انہوں نے کہا کہ حکومت نے جامعات میں میرٹ پر وائس چانسلر ز کا تقرر کیا۔ اس کی ایک مثال جامعہ اسلامیہ ہے جو پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی سربراہی میں ہر شعبے میں غیر معمولی ترقی کر رہی ہے۔ خطبہ استقبالیہ پیش کرتے ہوئے وا ئس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور دنیاکی ہزار بہترین جامعات میں شامل ہو چکی ہے اور پاکستان میں 11ویں جبکہ جنوبی پنجاب کی سرفہرست یونیورسٹی بن چکی ہے۔ موجودہ انتظامیہ نے یونیورسٹی میں انتظامی، مالیاتی اور تدریسی و تحقیقی شعبوں میں اصلاحات کا آغاز کیا۔ ریکروٹمنٹ اور داخلوں میں میرٹ کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے آئی ٹی بیسڈ نظام متعارف کرایا گیا۔ طلباء وطالبات کو زیادہ سے زیادہ علوم تک رسائی کے لیے فیکلٹیوں کی تعداد 7سے بڑھا کر 15کر دی گئی۔ یونیورسٹی کو داخلوں میں پاکستان بھر سے بھرپور پذیرائی ملی اور 20ماہ کے مختصر عرصے میں طلبا کی تعداد 13ہزار سے بڑھ کر 53ہزار ہو گی۔ اس وقت یونیورسٹی کے 40فیصد طلباء وطالبات مختلف قسم کے وظائف سے مستفید ہو رہے ہیں۔ ہیپاٹائٹس مہم کے تحت جامعہ اسلامیہ ملک کی پہلی ہیپاٹائٹس فری یونیورسٹی بن چکی ہے۔ اسی طرح اساتذہ اور طلباء کی کورونا ویکسینشن مکمل کی جا چکی ہے۔ 14سے زائد سلیکشن بورڈ اور 29سلیکشن کمیٹیوں کے نعقادسے 2218اساتذہ اور نان ٹیچنگ سٹاف کو ملازمتیں دی گئیں۔ اساتذہ کی تعداد 500سے بڑھ کر 1200ہو گئی ہے۔ وزیر اعظم پاکستان نے حال ہی میں 2.5میگاواٹ سولر پارک، نیشنل کاٹن بریڈنگ سنٹر، کرکٹ اسٹیڈیم اور دیگر منصوبوں کا افتتاح کیا۔ جامعہ اسلامیہ اور چین کی یونیورسٹی کا مشترکہ انٹرکراپنگ پروجیکٹ سی پیک کے منصوبے میں شامل کر دیا گیا ہے۔ یونیورسٹی میں اس وقت 12ارب روپے کے ترقیاتی منصوبے جاری ہیں جن میں وفاقی حکومت کی جانب سے نئے کیمپسز اور فیکلٹیوں کی تعمیر کے لیے 4ارب روپے کی رقم مختص کی گئی ہے۔ پبلک پرائیوٹ پارٹنرشپ کے تحت 4ارب روپے کے ترقیاتی منصوبو ں پر تیزی سے کام جاری ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ تمام کامیابیاں وفاقی اور صوبائی حکومت کی بھرپور معاونت، اساتذہ، طلباء وطالبات کی محنت اور مقامی کمیونٹی کی حمایت سے جاری و ساری ہیں۔ انہوں نے کانووکیشن میں شرکت کے لیے خصوصی آمد گورنر پنجاب چوہدری محمد سرور کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔کانووکیشن میں اراکین قومی و صوبائی اسمبلی، ڈویژنل و ضلعی افسران اور معززین شہر بڑی تعداد میں شریک ہوئے۔
