Pakistan is ranked among the world’s most beautiful tourist destinations. Realizing the potential of increasing tourism in Pakistan, the government of Pakistan is promoting this sector of the economy. Bahawalpur has an enormous potential for augmentation of tourism due to its natural scenery and archeological heritage. A large number of tourists visit Cholistan Desert, Bahawalpur forts, and other palaces in the city and around whole year. IUB Directorate of Sustainable Tourism (IUB-DOST) is a commitment towards making a low impact on the environment and local culture, while helping to generate future employment for the students of IUB as well as other local people in the tourism and hospitality industry.
