54th meeting of the Academic Council was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor of IUB

The 54th meeting of the Academic Council of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. The meeting approved the establishment of the Institute of Soil and Water Resources. BS, Phil and PhD degree programs in water management. The meeting approved BS program in Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics. Bioinformatics courses will be included at BS and MPhil, PhD level in Biochemistry. The Academic Council also approved BS Philosophy program. Apart from PhD civil engineering, revised syllabus and rules and regulations for various BS, MPhil level programs were also approved. More than 50 agenda items were considered in the meeting. These agenda items include improvement of curriculum, introduction of new programs, and simplified rules and regulations for the benefit of students. A code of conduct for faculty and students of the university has been approved and endorsed at the academic council level. The Vice-Chancellor said that this will help our young and incoming faculty members and senior faculty members to ensure that students are treated fairly and transparently and as a faculty and a role for the university community. With these initiatives, teachers will be able to conduct teaching and research according to high standards, benefiting from which students will be able to play an active role in the public and private sector.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی اکیڈمک کونسل کا 54 واں اجلاس وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی زیر صدارت منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس میں انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف سوائل اینڈ واٹر ریسورس کے قیام کی منظوری دی گئی۔ واٹر مینجمنٹ میں بی ایس، ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی ڈگری پروگرام کا اجراء کیا جائے گا۔ شعبہ پلانٹ بریڈنگ اینڈ جینٹکس میں بی ایس پروگرام کی منظوری دی گئی۔ بی ایس اور ایم فل، پی ایچ ڈی سطح پر بائیو انفارمیٹکس کے کورسز پڑھائے جائیں گے۔ یونیورسٹی میں بی ایس فلاسفی کے اجراء کی منظوری دی گئی۔ پی ایچ ڈی سول انجینئرنگ کے علاوہ بی ایس، ایم فل سطح کے پروگراموں میں ترمیم شدہ نصاب اور قواعد و ضوابط کے قوانین کی بھی منظوری دی گئی۔ اجلا س میں 50 سے زائد ایجنڈا ایٹمز پر غور کیا گیا۔ ان ایجنڈا آئٹمز میں نصاب میں بہتری، نئے پروگراموں کا آغاز اور طلباء کے فائدے کے لیے آسان اصول و ضوابط شامل ہیں۔ اکیڈمک کونسل کی سطح پر فیکلٹی اور یونیورسٹی کے عملے کے ارکان کے لیے ضابطہ اخلاق کی منظوری یا توثیق کی گئی ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ اس سے ہمارے نوجوان اور آنے والے فیکلٹی ممبران اور سینئر فیکلٹی ممبران کو بھی اس بات کو یقینی بنانے میں مدد ملے گی کہ طلباء کے ساتھ منصفانہ اور شفاف طریقے سے پیش آئیں اور بطور فیکلٹی اور یونیورسٹی معاشرے کے لیے ایک رول ماڈل بنیں۔ ان اقدمات سے اساتذہ تدریس و تحقیق کو اعلیٰ معیار کے مطابق چلا  سکیں گے جس سے مستفید ہو کر طلباء وطالبات پبلک اور پرائیوٹ سیکٹر میں فعال کردار ادا کرنے کے قابل ہو جائیں گے۔
