A daylong Talent Hunt Program held at IUB

The Department of Information Technology in collaboration with Directorate of Career Counseling and Placement Center, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, organized a daylong Talent Hunt Program and job interviews for the students of 7th and 8th Semesters of BSIT. Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan, Dr. Najia Saher, Ms. Afsha Imtiaz Elahi, Mr. Faisal Shahzad and Mr. Muzamil Ur Rehman of DIT were also present on this occasion and facilitated this event. After successful interviews, some of the talented students were hired by the company for production of video games in Pakistan. Mr. Shahid Durrani, Director Career Counseling and Placement Center, shared on this occasion that the establishment of CCPC was the brainchild of the Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob in direction to develop industrial linkage with academia. According to him, the Vice Chancellor having international exposure believes the students passed out from the academic institutions deserve guidance and direction for selection of career. Mr. Durrani said that most of the students face confusion and self-doubts related to their career in university time. “For them, career counseling can be helpful in taking the right decision to build and enhance their careers,” he said, adding tith the help of career guidance, students are able to bring out the ability and skills that they need for their future. According to the Director CPPC, the main objective of the Directorate was to motivate and give direction to students keeping in view their skills and degrees. Dr. Dost Muhammad also shared his views that in universities, the career counseling and placement department makes the students and parents to understand what is good for them and guide the students to choose the right career path. He said that proper and in time counseling helps the students to tackle with the competition which is increasing day by day in the era of flourishing market, and therefore counselor's advice, analysis, and research can play a major role in making the right decision for students. He appreciated the vision of the Vice Chancellor to developing positive linkage of students with industry from the platform of the CCPC.

شعبہ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی نے ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف کیرئیر کاؤنسلنگ اینڈ پلیسمنٹ سنٹر، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور کے تعاون سے بی ایس انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کے 7ویں اور 8ویں سمسٹر کے طلباء کے لیے ایک روزہ ٹیلنٹ ہنٹ پروگرام اور ملازمت کے لیے انٹرویوز کا انعقاد کیا۔ اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر دوست محمد خان، ڈاکٹر ناجیہ سحر، افشا امتیاز الٰہی، فیصل شہزاد اور مزمل الرحمان بھی موجود تھے۔ کامیاب انٹرویوز کے بعد، کچھ ہونہار طلباء کو کمپنی نے پاکستان میں ویڈیو گیمز کی تیاری کے لیے منتخب کیا۔ کیرئیر کاؤنسلنگ اینڈ پلیسمنٹ سینٹر کے ڈائریکٹر شاہد درانی نے اس موقع پر بتایا کہ کیرئیر کاؤنسلنگ اینڈ پلیسمنٹ سنٹر کا قیام وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کے تعلیمی اداروں کے ساتھ صنعتی تعلق کو فروغ دینے کے ویژن کی عکاس ہے۔ شاہد درانی نے کہا کہ یونیورسٹی کے زمانے میں زیادہ تر طلباء کو اپنے کیریئر سے متعلق الجھنوں اور خود شکوک و شبہات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ ان کے لیے، کیریئر کاؤنسلنگ اپنے کیرئیر کو بنانے اور بڑھانے کے لیے صحیح فیصلہ لینے میں مددگار ثابت ہو سکتی ہے، انہوں نے کہا، کیرئیرگائیڈنس کی مدد سے طلباء اس قابلیت اور ہنر کو سامنے لا سکتے ہیں جن کی انہیں اپنے مستقبل کے لیے ضرورت ہے۔ ڈائریکٹر کیرئیرکاؤنسلنگ اینڈ پلیسمنٹ سنٹر کے مطابق، ڈائریکٹوریٹ کا بنیادی مقصد طلباء کی صلاحیتوں اور ڈگریوں کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے ان کی حوصلہ افزائی اور رہنمائی کرنا تھا۔ ڈاکٹر دوست محمد نے بھی اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کیا کہ یونیورسٹیوں میں کیرئیر کاؤ نسلنگ اور پلیسمنٹ کا شعبہ طلباء اور والدین کو یہ سمجھنے پر مجبور کرتا ہے کہ ان کے لیے کیا اچھا ہے اور طلباء کی رہنمائی کرتے ہیں کہ وہ صحیح کیرئیر کے راستے کا انتخاب کریں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مناسب اور بروقت کاؤنسلنگ طلباء کو اس مسابقت سے نمٹنے میں مدد دیتی ہے جو پھلتی پھولتی منڈی کے دور میں روز بروز بڑھتا جا رہا ہے، اس لیے کونسلر کے مشورے، تجزیہ اور تحقیق طلباء کے لیے صحیح فیصلہ کرنے میں اہم کردار ادا کر سکتی ہے۔. انہوں نے کیرئیر کاؤنسلنگ اینڈ پلیسمنٹ سنٹر کے پلیٹ فارم سے طلباء کے صنعت کے ساتھ مثبت روابط کو فروغ دینے کے وائس چانسلر کے وژن کی تعریف کی۔
