A delegation from Climate Energy and Water Research Institute of National Agriculture Research Center visited Faculty of Agriculture and Environment the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The members of the delegation met Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar in his office. On this occasion, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah, Director Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies and Department of Horticulture, Dr. Muhammad Amin and Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq gave a detailed briefing. During the visit field experimental trials for possible implementation of Response Drip Irrigation System which is known as new generation smart irrigation saving technologies for fruit trees, orchards which is the amount of water we save in drip irrigation technology. Save more than 50% water and this technology is used in vegetables, fruit trees and field crops etc. Islamia University Bahawalpur has several plans to install "Model Demonstration Field Trials" for Response Drip Irrigation System. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur appreciated the efforts and cooperation of Pakistan Agricultural Research Center Islamabad. A detailed presentation was given by Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Director, Climate, Energy and Water Resources, National Agricultural Research Centre, Islamabad. Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur appreciated to provide opportunities to students/ researchers / scientists/ early career researchers on climate, energy and water resources, National Agricultural Research Center Islamabad. Finally, being the focal person of this joint project between National Agricultural Research Center and Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Wajid Naseem Jatoi, Director International Center for Climate Change, Food Security and Sustainability thanked the delegation for their visit and provide support in capacity building and teaching and research through practical cooperation between the two institutions. Later, the members of the delegation also visited the Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies. The members of the delegation met Dr. Muhammad Abdullah, Director Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies and praised his team's efforts at the Institute of Desert Studies to improve the desert ecosystem.

بہاول پور (پ) نیشنل ایگریکلچر ریسرچ سنٹر کے کلائمیٹ انرجی اینڈ واٹر ریسرچ انسٹی ٹیوٹ کے ایک وفد نے فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا دورہ کیا۔ وفد کے ارکان نے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر سے ان کے دفتر میں ملاقات کی۔ اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر محمد عبداللہ، ڈائریکٹر چولستان انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیزرٹ اسٹڈیز اور ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف ہارٹیکلچر سے ڈاکٹر محمد امین اور ڈاکٹر محمد اشتیاق نے تفصیلی بریفنگ پیش کی۔ دورے کے دوران رسپانس ڈرپ اریگیشن سسٹم کے ممکنہ نفاذ کے لیے فیلڈ تجرباتی ٹرائلز جو کہ پھلوں کے درختوں، باغات کے لیے نئی نسل کی سمارٹ اریگیشن سیونگ ٹیکنالوجیز کے طور پر جانا جاتا ہے جو کہ ڈرپ اریگیشن ٹیکنالوجی میں ہم جتنا پانی بچاتے ہیں اس سے 50 فیصد سے زیادہ پانی بچاتے ہیں اور اس ٹیکنالوجی کو سبزیاں، پھل دار درخت اور کھیت کی فصلیں وغیرہ میں استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں رسپانس ڈرپ ایریگیشن سسٹم کے لیے ''ماڈل ڈیموسٹریشن فیلڈ ٹرائلز'' کی تنصیب کے متعدد منصوبے ہیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے پاکستان ایگریکلچرل ریسرچ سنٹر اسلام آباد کی کوششوں اور تعاون کو سراہا۔ تفصیلی پریزنٹیشن ڈاکٹر بشیر احمد، ڈائریکٹر، موسمیاتی، توانائی اور آبی وسائل، نیشنل ایگریکلچرل ریسرچ سنٹر، اسلام آباد نے پیش کی۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین ترابی، ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرنمنٹ، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے طلباء/محققین/سائنسدانوں/ابتدائی کیرئیر کے محققین کو موقع فراہم کرنے کے لیے آب و ہوا، توانائی اور آبی وسائل، نیشنل ایگریکلچرل ریسرچ سنٹر اسلام آباد کے اس اقدام کو سراہا۔ آخر میں، نیشنل ایگریکلچرل ریسرچ سنٹر اور اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور کے درمیان اس مشترکہ منصوبے کے فوکل پرسن ہونے کے ناطے، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر واجد نسیم جتوئی، ڈائریکٹر انٹرنیشنل سینٹر فار کلائمیٹ چینج، فوڈ سیکیورٹی اینڈ سسٹین ایبلٹی نے وفد کا ان کے دورے پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔ اور دونوں اداروں کے درمیان عملی تعاون سے صلاحیت سازی اور تدریس و تحقیق میں مدد فراہم کرے گا۔ بعد ازاں وفد کے ارکان نے چولستان انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیزرٹ اسٹڈیز کا دورہ بھی کیا۔ وفد کے ارکان نے ڈاکٹر محمد عبداللہ، ڈائریکٹر انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیزرٹ اسٹڈیز اور ان کی ٹیم کی صحرائی ماحولیاتی نظام کی بہتری کے لیے انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیزرٹ اسٹڈیزکے اقدامات کو قابل تحسین قرار دیا۔
